I thought he was such an enjoyable NPC. I've seen many people rooting for him to reappear (hopefully as a romanceable companion) in DA3. Let's hope Bioware hears our pleading cries!

Who else would like to see Cullen come back as a companion in DA3? :)

I didn't like Cullen in DA:O but in DA:2 i found him much more reasonable.

I'm thinking about letting him appear in my fanfiction but have yet to find a way to include him..

What happened to Anders should probably serve as a warning to us all. I used to want Alistair back as a companion. Now that would worry me greatly, for all I'd like to interact with him to that extent.

Be careful what you wish for?  Yes, that thought lurks at the back of my mind too.

I think I may agree with you on that... and the likeliness of Leli showing up in DA3 is big...

I was thinking about that and then I starting thinking about how he went from adorably shy baby Templar to psycho mage-hater to hot, reasonable, supportive Templar in only ten short years.  Now he's getting a fic all his own.

Would like to see him return too. His attitude towards mages hasn't changed too drastically, coming from a guy who still believes mages aren't people, but the years have certainly tempered him, it seems. It's a relief to know that the new Knight-Commander of Kirkwall isn't as neurotic as the previous one. He was such a bamf denigrating Meredith like that. Let's hope he helps set things right in DA3.

Cullen will be one of your Warrior companions. Connor will be one of your Mages.

This. Although to be fair, I was disappointed about Anders returning from the moment he was announced (although I did like 'Awakening' Anders).

I suppose the fact that Cullen is way more awesome in DA2 than he was in 'Origins' might mean that he won't come back as a completely different character. We can hope.

I think in DAIII, Cullen will either be a Seeker, or a sympathetic adversary. The conflict will likely be between mages and templars, with the Chantry and the Seekers trying to stop it.

He went from unhinged in DA:O to good-looking and the voice of reason in DA II.

That means in DA 3, he'll be Zevran without the tan or accent.

Scene: DA3 planning meeting : Day  Place:  Bioware Bunker, Edmonton

Mr Laidlaw:  Do you have the outline Mr Gaider?
Mr Gaider:  Why, yes Mr Laidlaw, I do. *hands it over*
Mr Laidlaw:  *reads*  Cullen?  Again?  Why?
Mr Gaider:  He was very popular in 2.  People seem quite interested in seeing him outside his armour.
Mr Laidlaw:  Fan service?  That's not like you Mr Gaider.  Still, he is an interesting character and Greg is very reliable.  Why are you shaking your head?
Mr Gaider:  Read the character outline.  *waits*  We've written a large part for Matthias.  We can't have Greg doing two VO's for major characters.
Mr Priestly:  *pauses in open doorway*  Did I hear an evil laugh?
Mr Laidlaw & Mr Gaider:  Maybe.

It isn't completely implausible, since apparently the templars rise up as well as the mages in the other Thedas circles according to the epilogue.
And Fenris worked as a character even with all of the mage hate.

That's what I was talking about in my post. The Templars and the Chantry are no longer on the same side. Cullen will either be a Seeker or normal-dude (and thus, no longer a Templar), or an enemy, if a sympathetic one.

Of course not, but "the Templars," as in the Order as a collective, did.

I hope he won't join the Seekers. He thinks too much for a templar. Disobeys his commander's orders and stuff :) What if he would start to question Divine's will? So, if he will be back and won't be a templar, I hope he'll be a bad*** rogue witch-hunter or something. :)

It's hard to think that Cullen left the templars. After everything that happened in Kirkwall I assumed he would follow Meredith's footsteps and command the remaining templars there. He always seemed to be a man of principles and he always seemed to believe that his cause was justified.

However, it would certainly make an interesting story if he would be part of a rebellious group of templars.
