Anyone else find it annoying that when fighting or something else where literally every 5secs you find an item that doesn't have a name just says 'Ring' then you go into your character to check its stats.
Why couldn't Bioware do what Blizzard do with games like Diablo or even Torchlight with items having different colours and names to show its superiority and see its stats before you even pick it up??

There is a star sort of system that is supposed to show how fitting it is per your level. The stuff that just says Ring like the random stated "Raider" weapons and armor are just random. You can't expect much from those. The more special items actually do get different colors highlights of them. For example the higher necks and things getting green or even purple highlights. Just not the normal randomly labeled loot.

Well it is something I noticed the star system is totally inaccurate I have found that some items I have with 1 star are better than 4 star items and so-fourth. The whole star system is broken.

Yeah, it's very annoying. My storage chest ends up full to the brim with unsold jewellery because I can't be bothered to go through everything one by one and work out which ones are worth keeping.

It seems like BioWare really wanted to streamline and simplify the item system, by adding very basic icons and names.

It's a good and different system in principle I think because ten million different items called "of the Wolf" is just annoying and old at this point, and items aren't really unique when every single item has a backstory or purple text.

However, instead of streamlining the entire item system, it kind of feels like they only went half way. Most items are very simple, but there's tons of them, with minor differences only so it becomes a hassle to keep track. On the opposite ends there are the unique items, that feel completely out of place among the droves of the generic ones, and additionally they don't feel very unique because they use the same simple icons like everything else with a minor color shift.

So the end result is what feels like a half assed attempt at simplification, with one half staying behind in good old roleplaying game style, and the other trying to pull ahead and reinvent, but is held back.

So the inventory suffers and is a huge mess.

I just tend to vendor all I wouldn't need. The only draw back is things like having to wait for whatever quest or mob to get that really nice neck or ring. Then again if you are on the PC you could just cheat to get anything you wanted lol.
