Whats the point of putting +40 stamina/+10 stamina regen on something that has a Blood Magic bonus at the same time?

So that every mage build can use it?

Well, true, but still, its kind of a cross-purpose. If you're a Blood Mage, then two of the best features on the staff are redundant, no? And if you're not a Blood Mage, then thats a modifier thats just wasting space?

Some blood mages will use 50% of their mana first then apply Blood Magic and proceed from there.

I thought it would work well for Merrill but surprisingly it worked best for Anders for me

I used it on my spirit healer/blood mage build. Occasionally would drop blood magic, swap to spirit healer and fix everyone (including myself at times).

Still, its a nice multipurpose staff and you cannot complain when it has like 5 bonuses.

Some people can complain about anything. Example "I didn't ask to be born!" These forums sure have a lot of them it seems.

That's a nihilistic concept that's much more profound than what you are trying to make it be. It doesnt mean "I don't want to live", but more "the world is pain" (that's also a buddhistic concept, and it doesn't mean being "emo" but just understanding the nature of existence).

It is a profound argument so trying to resolve it in a game forum is outside my intent. Just pointing out that making fun of things you don't clearly understand will turn you as one that has made a bad figure, instead of your presumed "I'm fun and smart!" intent.

For the same reason why "The Final Thought" has a bonus to nature damage. There is no spell that can do nature damage (except one of Merril's Dalis Pariah spells)

That staff is over-priced rubbish... if you don't have any cold magic. I found a + lightning damage BM staff for like 13 gold...

My only problem with that staff is its looks. It is one of the ugliest staves in the game. :/

Don't assume you know how I meant words I used for the sake of argument. I meant it in the context it was used in not in any religious way. As in people that complain about everything for no reason. I didn't ask to be born why should I have to listen to what you say as my parents? I didn't ask to be born why should I have to follow these rules?

Or more relevant my teen age son when arguing once said it after I said "You should be grateful to have a roof over your head and almost anything you want provided for free" and he said "I didn't ask to be born, should I thank  you for doing what the law requires you to do?" It's that whole self entitlement thing.

Any way, this has nothing to do with the topic. The staff was made so any mage could get some usefulness out of it, so appreciate it or don't use it.

(I find the idea that children owe a debt of some kind their parents for food and shelter to be laughable.  If you choose to have a child, that sort of thing is your responsibility to provide for that child, to deal with the consequences of the choice that you made.  They don't owe you anything for it.)

lol man if my kid said something like that to me he'd be rudely introduced to my backhand. Being mouthy is one thing I will not tolerate from my kid(s)

By the time you can afford it (or, you know, half of Act 2) you're getting staves with more raw damage than it gives you and use it for the cold or stat bonuses. DA2 suffers from shoddy itemization that way. That is, if you're doing a completionist run. Even the supposedly 'epic' staves in Act 3 were lackluster for me once I got to them. This is a particularly annoying issue for mages, as the other two classes have either a really high/auto critical chance or a triggered 100% damage bonus on every attack, which mitigates gear that isn't quite up to snuff once you're level 25 or more in endgame.

the design didn't resemble the purpose..I believe it's a physical damage staff, no?
well again, whats the purpose of putting that bluish stone if they shoot physical attack?
it should shoot either ice/lightning/spirit..

I found out that Orsino's staff is the best looking staff ever! and I love staff with Spirit attack, because it shoots HANDS!!! :D
