corrupted File when i reached Ammon Jerro's sanctuary

I tried to load this file but it states the file itself is corrupted or unresponsive. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game to no avail. The question i had was simply is there a way i can correct this issue or am i basically going to need to start a new game and try again? I've already spent about 50 hours in the game and i put forth alot of effort to get where i am so i'm hoping there is something i can do otherwise i'll just have to delete the file and the character i worked so hard on. And if i can't fix this situation is there any advice you can offer so i can make sure this doesn't happen again? I don't want to spend another 50 hours and get a high level toon just to be stopped by the same corruption at the same point in the game. Thank you very much for your time

Are you loading a save game? Can you better explain what's happening? FWIW, you should be able to export your character once you're in the game using the export option off the main menu. You'll then have a character file for that character, which you can load in any game.
