1. Do you want a new "role up perons to build on?"
2. Do you want to play as Hawke agian?
3. Would you like to play as "The Warden" again?
I would like to hold this as a topic that BioWare can get some info on and tell us why you feel you should play X over Y and what they mean to you.
I think that both Hawke and The Warden mean a great deal to alot of us and we should let BioWare know if you feel that way.
If you want a new role up character, let them know here.
I have always thought..IMO, that a story is shaped around the character you build and how much you care for that character and the characters that he/she meets and bonds with......to me that is where you get your great story from.
I'am sure alot of you have thoughts on this and I think it's a great time to throw ideas out there and let the people at BioWare hear you. Thanks.

Like DA3 will upload our save on whatever gender we have.
I would love to make a new character, an elf for me personally.
As for everyone else, a more face choosing
But I wouldn't be too sad if we played as Hawke again.
As long they work on the romance, companions, and the environment.
Other than that, I'll be pretty happy.
Oh, I should also add MORE CONTENTS.
As in more than 3 acts. I want to PLAY MOOOAAR!!
That's all. <3

Barring a fixed protagonist, I think they should offer an Origins-esque format of letting us play as a Circle mage, Templar, or Seeker. But it needn't be restricted to only those.

1. Why I wouldn't want to be the Warden:
The Warden's story is over. S/He will always be remembered as the conqueror of the Blight and the Hero of Fereldan. Also, some people's Wardens made the Ultimate Sacrifice, and I don't want that to be worked around or to have to start as a new Warden because they made that choice. As for the OGB, well Morrigan is enough to wrap up that storyline.
2. Why I wouldn't want to be Hawke.
I assume DA ]|[ will deal with what Hawke (or rather Anders) caused with the schism of the Chantry, Templars, and Circles. Hawke simply has no good reason to care about any of this. Some Hawkes sailed away with Isabella, but eventually Hawke just vanishes. I see no reason not to meet Hawke in a later game and use your default personality for who Hawke is, but Hawke's story is done for now. Plus, Cassandra and the Seekers have stopped looking for him.

I wouldn't mind having Hawke (and some companions from DA2 return, like Varric) as a companion.
The option for a new character (along w/ having both the Warden and Hawke available as primary characters), I don't mind (someone from Anderfel, perhaps?)
That said, I'd be more interested with what they'll do w/ the game that who the protagonist will be.
Will the game be like DA:O? Will it be bigger than DA:O?
Will it be more like DA2? (enjoyable, but ultimately left with the feeling of the game being rushed out and disappointing)
I'd sooner they fix DA2, first...

What I must say is that if it is a new character, I want the option of being a warden. I really miss playing as a warden. I'd love for my old warden's story to continue on, I felt like her story hadn't been finished and that it needs to continue.
Although I do enjoy Hawke as well, she was definitely fun to play and I even made a male version which is rare for me to do. I almost never play a male character unless there is no female character, it's easier to relate to my own gender.
DA2 felt like a prequel to me, so I think I would like DA3 to have Hawke (or have an xpack for DA2 with Hawke).
What I really want is to play a warden again. And I want some of the companions from DA2 to have major roles in DA3. I'd love to see Anders and Fenris in the next game (or at least some dlc or xpack).
And I agree with wanting more in depth companions that we can talk to and get to know better, with a more involved storyline. DA2 was just too short, and answered no questions, only created more questions.

I think that DA2 showed me at it's end that both Hawke and The Warden could be played down the road or just "gone".
For me, IMO, I don't think the story has built enough for me to play a new pc and I don't like to have to start over. DA2 was my last game to play for the most part, I don't like having to build a character around a world I know more about then the character I build. That is...IMO.
Keep up the great post!

But to answer your question I wouldn't mind Hawke or if they had a system where you could play as hawke and continue his story further or you could have a different protagonist with their own backstory, it can be done, and it has been done in Yakuza 4 they had four characters to choose from, they all know eachother somehow and meet up with eachother its a very interesting aspect of gaming that's not done too often. It would be cool to see how npcs would speak to hake compared to a new nobody in comparison. Throw in the fact that they didnt even give hawke the justice he deserves for suffering through one city for ten years only to not have any impact on it at the end.

A new character would also mean a new story without the baggage of the old story. Is Leliana dead, married to the Warden or what? DA2 did a good job of handling the various possible endings for DAO with its 3 preset endings and your own ending.
I expect the Warden and the Champion to have cameos in DA3 to resolve the destruction of the Circle system. I would like the romances in both DAO and DA2 to be acknowledged. I would like Varric to have a role in DA3 as he was so central to DA2.

I'd love more time with my Hawke. Loved him. And I'm fairly burned out on the whole Warden thing.

Hawke was cool, but I wouldn't want to see him in another game either.
As such, I would like each DA game to offer a different protagonist. Personally, I would like the story for DA3 to involve a political struggle set in a country torn apart by the mage/templar conflict. As such, the protagonist should be a citizen of said country. Personally, I would prefer to have another voiced protagonist and for the game to use the consistent tone system that DA2 uses.

I'd also love to continue the Warden's story, but I got some great endings on my DA:O playthrough, so I'm sorta ambivalent in that regard.

I wouldn't mind if Hawke got dumped. But I don't think it will happen. DA2 feels like an introduction to a Shepard-like hero. No other races to play, just because it is more economic. It prevents race/origin specific dialogue. It also saves developing alternate armors for specific races (this idea is supported by giving the henchmen their own armor) to further reduce the cost. In this line of thought the Warden is a no go. At best we get a new Hawke-like character. That's unlikely too, because we have this rise to power idea behind Hawke and the seeker's story woven into it. I think they meant Hawke to stay for a while.
If this happens, looks like I won't be buying any more dragon age games.
