Is it doable? I'd like it to be dynamic, depending on whether or not you have the "hide helm" option checked off. If I can't see my own helm, I don't want to see my companion's helms. If I can, I do.
How does the setting work for the player character? Is it something that can be duplicated via scripting? So many questions!

Well, sure, if you just don't give them helms. But I want to give them helms. And I want to see their hair

What Sunnie said, there is no helmets for companions. Do you mean cityguards and templars and all those other random guys?
Or are you talking about DragonAge Origins?

No, I mean my companions. They can all have helmets with Thought Process's modified equipment_layout.gda that I thought everyone knew about by this point?

Link? I want to read about it.
EDIT: Oh, found it. Yeah, doesn't sound like it's actually fully working yet. Lots of little manual changes needed.

Lots is an overstatement. All it takes is one pass in a .gda editor to cover the initial setup, really. Otherwise, it's a great working mod.
