Some flaws are unavoidable and I think it behooves gamers to be more understanding. Origins was the start of a franchise, even if they had vague plans for a sequel, there was no guarantee that they would get it. Origins grants the player a lot more freedom to screw around with the Dragon Age world because at that stage it was a standalone game and the epilogues didn't matter because there was no sequel for your decisions to carry over to.
But now there is a sequel, and more concrete plans for an entire series. The writers have to start looking at the bigger picture and if that means resurrecting Leliana or moving Cullen to Kirkwall, then those are exremely minor sacrifices to make. I understand feeling somewhat betrayed when a franchise you love goes in a direction you don't like, but Dragon Age is just getting started and I find it hard to believe that some people are so invested in the outcome they got (out of the many possible) that they would raise hell about a few inconsistencies that are actually quite small.
I don't know if I'd call what I'm doing "raising hell"- if you look at my
original post you'll see that I was more surprised at the direct contradiction rather than raging at the Dev's about it. I agree with pretty much everything you said except for Leliana's death/resurrection being a "minor" inconsistency.
Don't get me wrong, if Gaider and his team needed to bring her back, they needed to bring her back- I'm not going to go rail about it, but I do empathize with those who feel it to be a fairly major retcon. DG said we never knew if she actually died but from what I hear you cut her head off- so it would be pretty weak to claim she didn't actually die.
Anyhow, like I said, agreed with most everything you said.
