On my 1st play through she was perforated with Quanari arrows in the Chantry - Just wondering if there is a an option where Hawke & party can kick her nasty ass themselves.

No I don't think so. There is a way however to make her survive that event in the chantry, but that requires siding with Ser Varnell and his fanatics to kill the Qunari in the "offered and lost" quest. This option is only avaliable to aggresive/cruel Hawke players. If you play as anything else you won't be able to convince Varnell that you are not with the Qunari.

I discovered that way to make Petrice live. What would have been cool is if they found some way for Petrice to either stop Anders from blowing up the chantry, or have her be responsible for the event that sets everyone off. It would have thrown a little more flavor into the endgame.
