I didn't run into him. Did I miss him? Is he always in the Deep Roads? I thought I'd searched it pretty thoroughly. Is he hiding somewhere? He survived my Awakenings playthrough. Is this a bug?
Or did he... stand me up?:crying:

In Act 3, his sister is standing by the Chanter's Board in Hightown. She give you the quest to save him.

It's a quest you get in Act III. You'll know the import worked if you don't get Fool's Gold in Act II.
The trick I used, since the post-epilogue save was wonky was to import a Vigil's Keep save before the game ended. Now, all my flags work.

He's in the deep roads, you get a quest from his sister in hightown in act 3, iirc. At least I got him showing using the 'martyr' pre-canned origin.

Someone said that the Architect has to be alive in the game you import, and that agrees with how it played out in my two playthroughs.

I don't believe that's true since I killed the Architect and Nate still showed up for me, unless of course even though it flagged that I killed him on the import, maybe the flag was bugged.

The flag concerning the Architect is bugged for everyone, I think - it'll always say you let him live, even if you plunged a sword into his skull.

That quest is bugged, it often won't show up even if Nathanial is alive in your import save.

Gah! I hope it will work on my current run. I had to endure the Awakenings just to get that quest. :(

It's a default state if you import from Origins. You don't even need to have Awakening for it to trigger.

And here I was thinking my last game must have been bugged for me to have missed that quest. So no Nate for me in this run. :(:(:(

You can get it if you do the prefab Martyr import. Or, like I said, take a save that's before the actual epilogue of Awakenings with Nate still alive. It'll work then.

Is there an post campaing save for Awakenings? Like DA:O or DA 2.

All I had was a auto save just before entering the last boss' lair.

I am suspecting my feeling is mutual. Awakenings hate me as much as I hate it. Image IPB

Yeah. My first playthrough used an earlier Awakenings save and I got the quest from Delilah. But this run I got Fool's Gold and I'm just approaching Act III, a bit late to start over. So very sadfaced. :(

It was a pretty throwaway quest anyway.  Just another DAO cameo.  At least Nate actually apologizes for having to be all cryptic and not tell you what he's up to.

Another thing to note is that if your Sibling ends up a Warden, they'll also make a cameo on Nathan's quest. Which gives you a little more dialogue to flesh out that particular direction.

You might be the victim of a bug like I am. When I used the console commands that let you view the world state, it told me Nate had left the Wardens. I tried again after using the fan made import bug fixer and it had changed to say he had stayed with the Wardens, which is what did happen in my imported game. I'm hoping the next patch fixes it.

He (and all other companions) are flagged as dead if left at the Keep and Amaranthine saved, regardless of how many upgrades you got or what the ending slides say.

The weirdest thing was that I think your warden sibling always talks like you ran into them on that quest, eve if you never got it. Or at least Bethany did for me once. She apologized for what she said in the Deep Roads, even though the last time I'd seen her at the time was the end of Act 2.

Indeed, the necromancers are active.  Happy Halloween!

Bring Nathaniel Howe with you when you go to kill Mother...I mean the Mother.  The final autosave worked just fine for me, as I've gotten Nate's quest every DA2 playthrough I've done.  After reuniting with him, I wish he was a companion instead of Sebastian, who was his replacement.

1. You have to have imported a save with Awakening completed.

2. Nathaniel has to have survived Awakening.

3. In Act 3, Delilah Howe will be outside the Chantry and she'll tell you the Grey Wardens went looking for the Primeval Thaig and you get to go back down into the Deep Roads.
