This is just an assumption so if anyone knows more feel free to post
but anyways. In Mass effect after you save and recruit Liara for your team and then goes and talk to her, pick the investigate dialogue option. Then ask about her father and her about that.

Now in Mass Effect 2 if you go and talk Illiums badass bartender and ask her about her partner, she will get angry and explain it to you and if you have heard liara talk about her ''father'' since both Liara parents are asari.

And here the last piece of the puzzle, in the shadow broker dlc, when you have defeaten him and gained access to his base run to the video station and flip trough until you see Matriarch Aethyta sitting at the bar looking at a picture of liara, the same picture that shepard has in his private cabin in the normandy. If you romanced her in the first game that is.

You mean the pic of your LI on Shep's desk? That shows whoever you romanced in ME only.

But to your thread specifically, yes, it has been pretty strongly pushed that Aethyta is in fact Liara's 'dad'. It was loosely debated after ME2, along with Aleena/Aria, but LotSB seems to have BW confirming (or as close to actually saying it right now) it about Aethyta and Liara.

Yes she is Liaras "father"
It is confirmed when you talk to her on the Citadel in ME3
