What made you feel really BADASS in DA2?

or they'll just take TOO long if you're going all strategic and stuff.
However, there are some highly entertaining "little things" which I relished in, during combat.
- running my mage into the middle of a fight and doing "Mind Blast". that was good for a couple of days worth of chuckles'
- having my 2H DPS tank zig-zag around the map (closing manoeuvre, Scythe) and ending with a nice Whirlwind.
Actually Scythe alone was quite entertaining to watch.
- Varric's "Death Arrow" thing, when used on non-bosses

You didn't have to say it, it was inevitably going to come in droves anyways.

This. But people do it all the time anyway.

Killing the Arishok in single combat. Took me forever, almost ran out of potions, but definitely felt i earned my "Champion" title after that
Speak for yourself. I had to run around in circles trying to stay alive. I felt like a wimp after that.
LOL...yeah, same here. But, for me it was the mutual respect thing going and Iiked that, so I kept at it and eventually got him but it took a while to do it. I had no idea he could move so damn fast but figured out how to use that to my advantage. I was a Mage in that one.

I have to agree with some of the other folks, it was most certainly NOT this fight. I kited him around (even on normal) which just felt silly and broke the immersion big time, the fight was amazingly poorly designed. There was no gravity or seriousness to the situation. The fight with Loghain in Origins had a much, much greater impact because it wasn't ****g silly like this one ended up.
The Arishok had too much HP/armor and some of the attack animations (being hoisted up impaled on a blade...really?) were obscenely silly as well.
It felt unsatisfying because I kited the hell out of him, I wasn't a champion, I exploited the game system to beat the boss (because that's the only way to do it because he was horribly balanced).
I can tell you what else didn't make me feel awesome, the combat: also silly, and over the top and the blood balloon enemies.
Silly, over-the-top combat and boss fights that feel like boss fights (where you know you're playing a game and look for ways to win rather than participate in the experience of going toe-to-toe with a respected adversary) are NOT awesome.

I prefered when we had fatalities, those were great.

Bioware's story department could learn a thing or two from the first DieHard movie & The Song of Ice & Fire

And the bow melee moves look friggin awesome. About damn time too! Some very bad ass animations.

Lol... what? John Mclain certianly is a kiling machine in my book though!
That said, EVERY bioware character is a killing machine. Not a single one is ordinary. An ordinary man doesn't rape dragons or carve there way through small armies with a handfull of odd companions.
Why you would expect to be playing an ordinary man is beyond me...
But I think EVERY fantasy franchise could learn something from game of thrones

100% agree. It was quite satisfying whenever he went into Rage-Hawke mode, but there weren't enough.shaneho78 wrote...

The game needs more scenes like this. Like the way Shepard pushed the merc through the window.
If you're reading this Devs: we want more scenes like this in DA3 not less!

I disagree completely with your basic premise.Revakeane wrote...
In my humble opinion, badassery is an integral component of games... especially in RPGs where you're supposed to identify strongly with the character.
In many games (action games, mostly), making the player feel empoered is a primary design goal.
But in an RPG, you (the player) aren't the one doing things in the game. You are not your character. I don't think identifying with your character is important, or even desireable.

Um that is what you are supposed to do in an RPG...role play that character, be that character, identify with that character.
Unless you were going for sarcasm?
