So glad to see that Kaidan/Ashley, Garrus and Liara will be squadmates. <3  News about RPG elements and weapons customisation is good too.

squad members are just like ME 1. the rest of them are temporary or depend on particular situations. but I really doubt that Liara will just join Shepard as squad mate? she is shadow broker. she won't give it up. it is critical fact to defeat reapers. I guess that she will stay in shadow broker ship. but whenever Shepard needs to go to mission, just calls her to join in the site.

however there are few questions. what happened to Miranda & Jacob. what about Tali? why does James Sanders suddenly join him? etc.

I'm curious to see how will the Character Creation take place: i.e if your appearance for ME2 carries over automatically to ME3 and you can't change a thing, or if character creation/appearance customization will only be available for new playthroughs (non-imported Sheps)...etc.

I hope that you can at least add/remove scars or subtle features for imported sheps, I'd especially like to add a realistic (key word here) looking scar to some of them, like they had in ME1.

Only a few months have passed since ME2's last bridging DLC (watheveryou played them or not too) so I doubt Shepard would have gotten a scar too. Remember what the facial surgery after effect said: "No scarring will occur no matter what actions you undertake". Shepard is now a super human cyborg with unbelivable healing abilities so I doubt he'd get scars from punches or any kind of meele weapon. And if he did, he'd just use the surgy machine again. That's why it's there!

Why oh why did Bioware take away the awesomeness that was the ME1 scars.

I resent giving mine scars in ME1. He looks much better without them. If had scars in your face, and given the option to easily remove thyem, you'd keep them because they look cool? They look cool in armor, but what about a tuxedo? Only Krogans think they're sexy, most humans don't.

I believe the "No scarring will occur...." thing is in reference to no facial scarring will occur based on you being naughty or nice (or whatever their pseudoscientific reasoning was)
A knife to the face will still leave a mark.

That's rather opinionated. The scar for one of my Shepards was more symbolic than anything, especially since he was a sole-survivor from Akuze. The option to have ME1-esque scars in ME3 would be nice.

And how exactly would he acquire these scars? In between the months leading to ME3 he underwent more punishment then the entire year that ME2 spanned? Right.......

One can pretend they have been there since ME1 and choose to ignore the fact that they weren't their in ME2, one can also say that it happened over the course of ME2 or maybe one could even create some elaborate story of how they got it between the events of ME2 and 3.
The reasoning need not matter, as long as it is up to the player.

How did his scars get better or worse in ME2 just by how he acted toward people?

This article gave me hope for Bioware. Still didn't see anything about companion customization though. But seeing that weapons are customizable made me happy!

Theory: TIM lead CERBERUS to resurrect Shepard using cutting-edge human cybernetics, mass effect physics, and reaper technology. That last was the key to the Lazarus Project. Shepard, TIM theorized, being the only human to interface with a Prothean Beacon is sought by the Reapers not as a potential threat, but as a scientific asset. TIM uses Shepard the same way.

Evolution and ME1 indicate that sentient organisms can exist almost independantly while infused with reaper tech. Post-Lazarus Shepard is "humanity's best hope" not because he was rebuilt as a supersoldier, but as part of a superWEAPON. The initiative against the Collectors was a daring, necessary dry run for Shepard.

TIM doesn't want to kill Shepard out of spite. He wants his weapon back to complete or duplicate it, and fight the war for humanity on his terms.

The four eye slots look batarian-style, but the armor itself looks like the Cerberus soldiers in the screenshots.

I hope we players can get rocket boots and/or jetpacks. That would be awesome.

Did anyone else notice they forgot to mention that in the final battle, players who lose their squad will get back up from the ME2 surviving crewmen & Conrad "BAMF" Verner?

Also not mentioned:
New squadmate-- Dr. Chakwas

Skills:
Defender
First Aid/Medicine
Neural Shock
Molotov cocktail (brandy fueled)

Doesn't the article start on page 50?  DO you mean the sword wielding chick above the New Game + portion?
If she's Cerberus, she might not be Batarian.
