no offence but no one knows anything yet. just wait till the game releases.

me1- geth

me2- collectors

me3- reapers

do people actually think that that saving the reapers for the final act is a bad move? if anything it keeps the lore alive.

This.

The first two games are essentially setting the stage for the Reapers epic return.  Both games revolve around the reapers using their minions to hasten their return, but Shepard thwarts their plans everytime.

I imagine the mystery surrounding the Reapers and what their motives are will be revealed in its entirety in ME3

When I heard Mass Effect had villains called reapers I thought of some badass ethereal space creatures, terrifying to behold and whatnot... Turns out they're just space ships who want to eat us all. "Oh no!!! The Reapers are coming!!! Woe is us!!! Why did Galactus have to go and knock up the Event Horizon!?!?!
And as if that isn't bad enough, they sent in the Borg(sans organic bits) and the orcs of space Mordor ahead of them! EEK!!!!"
The Mass Effect universe would be a lot better without the looming threat of Cthulhian Vaderless talking Death Stars on the horizon.

Horizon? Did you not play Arrival? You fail miserably. The Reapers are death stars with thrusters and they are going to kill everything. That's like death star overkill itself.

I agree the Reapers are ****ing boring. Woo terrible space monsters come to destroy you. Yawn whatever. Hell it's even more hilarious when we look at Kasumi reading books. At least one of which must have some unknown force destroying the galaxy. What the **** kind of meta **** is going on there. So in game these character should be aware of this type of story line big evil comes to destroy the galaxy. They don't even find this somewhat humorous there playing a story out?

The reapers go rawr, shepard goes pew pew. The end. That's as notable as these villains are. I've stopped liking Mass Effect for the story a long time ago, it's the interactions and smaller stories which can sometimes be better. Overall though I think these are my last Bioware games, the others get chucked in the seen it and done it bin.

Edit
These villains have only ever failed. How the **** are they villains? Where's their credibility? We haven't seen them do anything evil, we just have to have it in good faith they are. Bul****.

This sounds more like trolling that making an accurate analysis of villians within the ME universe. Not that your comment makes much sense.

They haven't failed, they have harvested the galaxy for millions of years, their credibilitiy is them being thorough in their galactic harvesting and leaving absolutely no trace of how this happened almost every time. We haven't seen them do anything evil? haha, you make me laugh, we haven't seem them do anything evil, but we have seen the end results of them doing "evil" e.g. the collectors, the final boss of ME2, the Husks. Do i need to say more?

Plus how the heck can you judge a villian without even half the facts? We barely know enough to fill a small stick note pad or two.

There would be no Mass Effect without Reapers.

Imagine how small the first game would seem if Saren was the only threat. The first two games have been building up our big confrontation with them, you can't judge something if it hasn't even been fully introduced yet.

People who say the Reapers are boring just don't get it. They utterly fail.

Ugh, I guess I'm going to have to explain how it is you who fails miserably... about a great many things.
1. Yes I played arrival.
2. The Death Star had thrusters. It wasn't carried over to the rebel base on Atlas' back.
3.Wow, they're going to kill everything. Never heard that one before.
4. The Death Star analogy wasn't even a physical comparison. It was meant in the context of Sovereign being Mass Effect 1's Death Star and Saren being Mass Effect 1's Vader.

You're right, I'm a troll because I don't like the reapers. What was I thinking voicing an opinion that doesn't  coincide with Mass Effect being the pinnacle of sci-fi and gaming excellence in every way possible?

Harbringer acting in a way that was so over the top that it fueled memes (Asumming direct control) certainly didn't help. Neither did ME2s big boss fight.
