Garrus and Tali should be back (squadmates who've been with you over the trilogy, would fit in nicely), the VS, I don't know if Liara should be a squadmate, I'd like her to stick to a supporting role with plenty of appearances and give her position to a more interesting squadmate (same with Mordin and Jacob).

I'd like Grunt, Miranda and Thane back in as well. We're probably going to get a "surprise" squadmate like in ME2.

From a story perspective, Tali needs to return to her people. She is the only quarian aware of the Reaper threat, and if she can be made into an Admiral, her expertise would be invaluable to her people. The Admiralty Board basically scoffed at Shepard's warning in ME2. That should prove how important it is to have her as a leader.

I don't think Miranda sucks. Her mix of warp and overload make her pretty handy in most situations. Kaidan was sort of the same in ME 1. Or maybe it's just me and my love for the sentinel class...

To be honest I don't want more squad-mates. I want fewer. I feel that we had too many in ME2.

They confirmed that you will get Liara and Garrus (if he survived of course) in the game informer story. Given that I was loyal to Liara through both games, I am pretty happy about that idea.

I have said it countless times and I'll say it again. Gianna Parasini for Squadmate and LI.
And the reply: but she is dead in my game, was just disqualified by Garrus himself.
Do i think it is likely she will be: No. But i still want her on my ship!

I don't really get why everyone is so into the Sniper. He was just another generic soldier with short hair. If this was Star Trek he'd wear a red shirt if you know what I mean.
When I saw the trailer I thought it was just a marketing move to

A) Disguise that it is indeed about ME3 when they released the teaser of it and
B) Create a dark and desperate atmopshere to show how helpless we are. Since Bioware hardly ever allows Shepard to show any emotions like that they needed someone else for the job. (in fact I can't even remember any scene where Shepard commented on his or her own thoughts about the invasion except for the lotsb scene)

So again: Can anyone tell me what is so remarkable about that Sniper other than being the first ME3 character that we've seen?

@topic
Not so sure... Do we really need many new people anyway? We have 15 people from ME1&2, isn't that enough? I'd say something along the lines of "It's your own damn fault" to people who let half of them die.
Apart from that this Sanders guy might be interesting. A relative of Kahlee maybe?
I'd generally like one or two characters from the novels make an appearance in ME3. Gillian seems to have miraculously grown up if the info that the next novel will be out before ME3 can be trusted, so why not have her? That'd be interesting.

I'm going to stop you right there, because you're wrong. Completely wrong. The second ME novel deals with this--the admirals are well aware of the Reapers and are very interested in them, specifically how it is they were able to control the geth.

I think we already have more than enough potential party members already. But since were just using examples.

1. Big Ben Sniper
2. Turian Biotic
3. A Volus. He wouldnt actually "fight" but he could help the party by conning/charming his way in and out of situations, and you get a 60% discount on all items if you have him with you.

And... Thats pretty much it. Oh and maybe a Batarian but only if I can kill him/her on first meeting.

Most named in this thread should probably fall into the "guest helper" category (ala Liara in LotSB) and just assist the team during their respective cameos. I could actually see Bioware scaling back the number or choosable squadmates, or implementing a rotating kind of system when a mixture of a wide cast are available at any given time.

Kal would be a cool addition on the basis that he is added to the squad in "replacement" to Tali because she has to be an admiral on the fleet.

I am thinking that someone prominent in the courtroom will be joining you. This could be anderson or even your lawyer.... that has ninja skills!

Can someone clarify Mordin's age? I thought he was pushing 50, not 30...

Anyway, I think some kind of Batarian would be a great inclusion from a story perspective. It would give you a lot of insight to the hatred between humans and Batarians, and also seems relevant considering the end of Arrival. It would almost be symbolic of the idea of the species of the galaxy united against the Reapers.

And of course, I want a Krogan. A female is an interesting idea. Wrex and Grunt would be preferred. Grunt would seem likely as he doesn't really have any engagements outside of Shepard, so he wouldn't really have a reason to leave the team. He's still getting big things to kill, that's all he wants, so why would he leave? Unless he wants to rally with the rest of clan Urdnot, since that is his new clan. Though I don't see him leaving Shepard since he considers him his battlemaster.

I want to keep my squad that i spent the whole second game trying to find, with the addition of the original Mass Effect squad (VS, Liara, Wrex) and maybe two new characters that will make a total of 17 companions (I have the 2 DLC companions)... I doubt this will happen but I can dream -_-

Whoah whoah whoah no he's not! The dude is w-... yeah it makes sense for Mordin to be 30 human years old but in Salarian terms he's most likely 50 salarian years old. He can't be 30 salarian years old... I thought the dude was old o.o.

Well either way, we know he's going to be in ME 3 thanks to Game Informer.

I'd like the ability to generally keep the same team, but kick some people to the curb - Miranda, for instance. Yeah, I just don't like her. :| Oddly, I'd also tell Jack to GTFO because to my FemShep she seems like too much of a liability to have around... maybe just assign them to the same bedroom on shore leave and have the problem take care of itself?

I'd love to see one of these guys pop up, since they were featured in a Daily News arc - http://masseffect.wi...i/Virtual_Alien

As long it has a minigun, I'm fine with it. We need a minigun in ME3.

I agree with Dave.

But, if I HAD to add someone/something:

A Batarian, just because they are the most humanoid species NOT already having a squadmate represented.
The British sniper in the trailer.
Maybe a Volus engineer/hacker?
A Vorcha, although I have NO idea how he'd be handled.
Some kind of hybrid Rachni? (smaller than the ones in ME1, since it just doesn't make sense to have something that large randomly following you around)

Here's a scenario I've thought of for recruiting a Vorcha teammate:

A15-19 year old ex-Blood Pack mercenary who's body has been adapted to being as strong as a tank from all the battles he's been in is disillisioned about his life and the social standing of the Vorcha in the Terminus Systems and decides to go out in a blaze of glory by taking out the Krogan leader(s) of the Blood Pack(his former boss(es)) and/or free some Vorcha they've recently kidnapped(to be forcibly trained into BP mercs like he was). Naturally, Shepard "just happens" to be in the area, intervenes, strikes a deal with the guy to take out the Krogan(s) and free his people in exchange for recruitment.

He can also tell some Zaeed like stories of his past(with a Vorcha twist!) like how he's lost limbs(and later regrew them) in heavy combats he's been in.

So yeah, creating a scenario for a Vorcha to join Shep's team isn't that hard. :P

But it's implied that the Vorcha aren't the introspective kind who would even think it demeaning to his people to b used as mercs etc.

I like the idea, but it seems like the vorcha are being relegated to cannon fodder.

Cool and well-written, but I don't know if BW would adapt such a scenario.
