I got to wondering about the Immunity talent/power in Mass Effect. I know what it does (increase damage protection for a set amount of time) but is there ever any kind of explanation as to the technology involved? Is it like a failsafe release on the armors' mass generators (hardening microwells) or something? Has anyone ever given this any thought?

It's what's on the other side of the 'i win' button.
Honestly, just think of it as a shot of massive pain killers.

Considering that they gave clear explanations of everything else, I'm stumped as to why there wasn't any in-depth text or anything.

If I had to guess, "Rage is a hell of an anesthetic" combined with medigel application by the armor.

I always assumed that it was what adrenaline rush is now , its a release of adrenaline
into the soldier to block out pain temporally , what it is in ME2 is the same but it grants you speed and better reaction time (bullet time) which ME1 lacked
