In a conversation with Hawke's mother, she basically tells you that Bethany was 18 years old, and since her and Carver were twins he would be 18 as well. This made me curious as to how much older Hawke is than his or her siblings. Anyone seen anything about it anywhere? or have any ideas?

I'm pretty sure Hawke is supposed to be ~three years older than the twins. The oldest s/he can be in the beginning is 23/24.

Hawke is between 20-24 years old. The twins are 18/19 at the prologue, and Leandra and Malcolm ran off together 25 years ago.

From the wiki: "Hawke is between the ages of 20 and 24 at the start of Act I, but it is never explicitly stated as to how old he is. He is at least 20 since he is older than Bethany and Carver and they were 19 at the start of Act I. He can't be older than 24 since Gamlen states that Leandra left with Malcolm 25 years ago and it is an assumption that Leandra was not pregnant when they left."

Yup, that's a fail on BioWare's part. Maybe he has some hyper-aging disease.

Maybe he had pretty much stress providing for his family? Remember, people didn't always age as well as they do today. I thought it was okay.

Yeah he looks more 35.

Then again this is like the middle ages, people die at 40.

@ Forst1999...

I love your signature.

I wanted to say Hawke is in the mid twenties range at the beginning of Act 1. Maybe get away with 23?

My ManHawkes look like they're in their early 20's at least.

I imagined Hawke to be around 21-23 but that maybe because that's my age bracket and I relate more.

Lothering was a tough paper round.

Your kidding right? I am 21 and he looks old as **** and shoots fireballs, so I find it hard to relate.

I should have been more specific in what I meant.

I was playing as custom female Hawke and the relating part refers to having a younger sibling. Rather than the fantasy part for which I have my imagination.

I want my Hawke to start DA2 at age of 22 so at the end she is like 29/30.

I think it's left to your own devices to decide. I just can't stand seeing fanart of people who draw their Hawke and characters super young and beautiful >.<.

The male Hawke voice actor is in his 40s. I love the voice acting, but it did make the character sound a lot older than the story says he's supposed to be.

It felt a little odd when I first made a young-looking custom male Hawke, hearing that "older" voice coming out of him but I got used to it after a while.

Hawke has super Amell genes that keeps him/her youthful and beautiful for longer. Have you seen Leandra? She's waaay hot for having three kids around their twenties. :P

I wish the Black Emporium gave some skin texture options for like minor crows feet or laugh lines. I considered aging my Hawke nearer to the end but the only 'older' texture made her look 60.

I can see MaleHawke being in his early 20's at the start of the game. You can be suprised how many years a beard can add... Voice too; for as long as I've known my father, from now back to the videos of my first birthday (when he was only a couple years older than me now) and beyond, he's always sounded like Billy Bob Thorten in Slingblade...

Then again, heavy smoking had a lot to do with it (which is why I'm not blessed, or perhaps cursed, with such gravely tones)... maybe they grew a lot of pipe-weed at the Hawke farm? :P

Very true. Even just a little bit of facial hair can add years. Also, MaleHawke is sporting some scars(default) that can age a man as well. Tossing in that Lothering is a farming community, all day in the sun is not an uncommon thing.

AH in the medievel times hard work and hard times really aged the folks. I think they were considered [ peasants anyways] as having longevity at 40... I mean by todays standards thats really really young. so I always cut the default MHawke some slack, he had to work like the daddy of the family and then some to keep em safe. added a lot of character lines teehee

LOL :P

I never have the youngest skin on, the skin with pores looks infinitely better imo.
I think Bioware needs to do something with their lines on their skin though too; DA2 has inherited from Origins the completely ugly skin textures :<. Why can't our characters look older without being too old? T_T
Leandra isn't too bad though, she looks about 40-50, which is the age a woman with children in their 20s should be. Although with my pore skin texture she actually looked older than I suppose she would if you had the pristine skin texture :/.
