I've been trying to start up Mass Effect on the PC, but every time I click the play button, the game crashes.
I'm aware my game card isn't the best for gaming and isn't supported, but I've been able to play a number of other games at low quality settings (e.g. Dragon Age 2 most recently). If anybody knows of anything I could do to make Mass Effect work for me without buying a new computer, I'd appreciate it.
Here are my specs+info:
PC
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium
Digital download via the EA store
Pentium® Dual-Core CPU T4500 @ 2.30GHz
2 Cores
Clock speed 2282 MHz
3.93 GB RAM
Mobile Intel® 4 Series Express Chipset Family
VRAM: 1.74 GB
Speakers (Conexant SmartAudio HD)
Driver Version 4.111.0.0
DirectX 10.0 (Mar2009) or later
Thanks for any help!
Is my graphics card the problem?

You don't have a graphics card. You have an integrated graphics chipset which is designed for the most basic drawing functions. As you guessed, the video hardware is the problem.
I don't think there's anything you can do. Very few people have been able to run the Mass Effect series on an Intel chipset and only with horrible artifacts.

Is that a laptop or desktop? If it were a desktop it'd be a case of getting a proper graphics card. If it's a laptop you are screwed.
EDIT: On the note of low quality settings. Are you honestly satisfied with that? I know i wouldn't want to play the game at bare bones settings. If i buy a game i want to experience it as intended. If your rig can't handle gaming you'd be better off getting a console at least you know you'll have a decent visual experience without having to upgrade anything.
