Bioware will just override it and make their own canon story ~

Expect Orsino, Grace, Carver and Bethany, Anders, the Arishok, Meredith, Cailan, Duncan and Uthemiel (in dragon form) in DA3.Posted Image

"We thought we were done telling Duncan's story, but we weren't and never thought we were. We always intended for him to return all the way back when Origins was just a concept." - David Gaider

"Like the never before seen horned qunari artwork that supposedIy was floating around during Origins development, I also recall seeing concept art for Duncan in Orlais next to Sandal and was wondering why that was. Now it makes sense." - Lying Bioware employee

"Does Cailan have a twin brother named Cailan who secretly ruled jointly with Cailan? We never said he didn't" - Anonymous Bioware Writter.

My understanding is that the epilogues were not cannon. They were there to provide some closure if they never got to make a Dragon Age game or the player never played another. They're only considered a rumor about what happened to the warden.

That's misleading. Yes, the epilogue outcomes weren't canon because BioWare decided to not canonize any of your decisions when there was room for choice and different endings. This would go against having a few outcomes ( chosen by BioWare ) forced on the player in future titles.

I agree that the endings tended to be written in the forms of rumours though. :bandit:

Isn't it said that she and Sten die if left in Lothering? What about Anders getting shot in the head in Awakening if left to defend Vigil's keep? ( yes, I know if he meets Nathaniel in DA 2 he clams how that was all part of his "master plan" ).

And what about this: if you max his relationship out, the epilogue states ( from dragon wiki ) he [ Anders ] tells the Commander of the Grey that his time with the Wardens is over. However, not two months later, he returns and the Wardens remain his home and lasting companions.

What the heck BioWare? That's right, keep whining about recycled dungeons guys; never mind the messed up continuity. >_>

I don't have a problem with the epilogues being treated as rumor. If they want to bring back supposedly dead characters, I don't really see the problem.

Then again, maybe I'm used to it. I'm used to reading comic books where heroes and villains "die" many times only to come back later.

That's what I fear. I actually wanted to say something to the effect of " why not bring everyone back after a game or two, BioWare? Comic books do it too" Hahahaha, ha... no. I don't think I'd like Dragon Age to become like that, not in the least. :D

I don't think Bioware would do that. I might be wrong though.

Anyway, my point was that a lot of people seem to be raging at Bioware for doing this as if they're the only ones that do it.

Comic books are an entirely different matter... even there some see it as a negative aspect of the medium, to revive characters constantly. It would do nothing for the story in Dragon Age.

That's why I said I don't think they would do it. But I do think if they did it for one or two characters they deem to be important or whatever I wouldn't have a problem with it. If they did do it for multiple people I would have a problem with it.

Also I don't think it's just limited to comic books or movies. I'm sure there are games out there where you supposedly killed someone only to have him/her show up later.
