Why is everyone making this topic such a joke? If you had actually read the books or know what the taint is and how it works..you'd realize this is actually a legit question...pretty good one too.

As i_b said..it's answered in The Calling...and by some important characters too.. =)  But I shall not spoil..unless you ask I will PM.
