In The Calling when Duncan ends up with the mage girl the book says mages can be on the promiscuous side and Grey Wardens while are not encouraged to have relationships it's not forbidden either, if a Grey Warden has a child they have to give the child up.... I don't believe those children are tainted either? Though that seems odd especially if the Warden is the mother? Unless the placenta can filter out the taint from the child... O.o
More spoilers.... Fiona's child does not have the taint but her own taint mysteriously disappears, but if it hadn't would her child have been a born Warden?

If the child's blood was powerful enough to cure the mother of taint...there is probably a young man somewhere in DAO who is a Super Grey Warden from birth...completely uncorruptable. (and only Duncan and Fiona know who he is)

I'm pretty sure the darkspawn taint isn't like AIDS... it's probably more like some types of herpesviridae infections, staying dormant in the wardens till it crops up and drives them mad. genetic decay is probably what makes the virus switch out from its lysogenic cycle and become active (lythic). I got this all from wikipedia...
although there are also mother f***ing dragons so that kinda defenestrates any scientific arguments. Maybe its just because the gods are really fricken pissed at humans; but they like to hate them so they let them breed with no problems (you know kinda like the twilight novels)?
