I don't think the link is working.

Really? I haven't had anyone else tell me there's issues with it, I'll run some tests

Confirmed, it just sends me to Google docs and says link not found.

same problem here.

It works for me and if any of what I just read is true, then the hype meter just went through the roof!! Alot there makes me feel cheery :)

yeah OP i think your reading way too much into it. Biowar isn't gonna give us any concrete detailes on the ME2 squadmate situation til much closer to launch. They're not stupid, they know its one of the biggest things fans want to know and are opinionated about, its written on every centimeter of this forum. Bioware has either delivered on the build up of ME2 by keeping all the squad or they haven't but if they haven't, its not gonna be easy news to break and they're gonna avoid it as long as they can. I for one though have faith that they didnt construct Me2 the way they did without the confidence that come ME3 they would be able to reward the player by keeping their surviving squad intact.

Jarrett Lee even references the info in the Sticky thread, so that seemed a good enough confirmation to me, as well as the GameFaqs user put up more pictures of his copy of the magazine, so It's definitely for sure that he's got the mag

My prediction is that ME3 will be very Shepard-centric, though I see OP's point, as the most dominant plot of ME2 was squadmate recruitment. I'd hate to think that all that work in ME2 was just for the collectors.

Excellent :)  That pic I saw of 'a certain squadmate' - need to go back and do another ME1 playthrough methinks!

Totally wasn't expecting Liara as a squadmate, that's pretty epic. Have my A-team of Liara and Garrus again, woot!

When has there ever been a Bioware game where all the companions were revealed all at once?

Never, but still, all of ME2 was about those companions, why hide them returning or not until months later?

Because Bioware will have nothing to keep people hyped for 9 months if they reveal everything at once?...

Jesus christ this has happened with every Bioware game since the dawn of time

9 months out: "Why won't Bioware release info"
8 months out: "Why won't Bioware release MORE info"
5 months out: "Looks good so far, but want more info"
1 month out: "MORE INFO BIOWARE WTF"
Release: *Spout half-assed opinion on the forums"

That is the Bioware circle of life

While there is going to be doubt surrounding the return of certain party members probably up until release (there is always the chance of a secret companion with Bioware afterall) I really think people need to look at the positives here. In this one first real look at the game we have already had arguably two surprise confirmations and one that was always likely yet is no less welcome. Plus, for fans of a couple of the ME2 characters we now know that Cerberus are definitely going to play a big role in the plot once again.

The reveals won't come quick, and for some the wait will be almost unbearable I'm sure, but there isn't really any point expecting different. A squadmate reveal probably draws a lot of attention to the game and I'm sure the marketing team plans to spread them out to maximise the effectiveness of that.

It is the first big article on ME3 they are not going top reveal EVERYTHING in that one article and keep a few things uncertain (for fans to get excited and speculating about, etc.) and so other articles can reveal more.

Therefore any "squad mates" reveal is just that .. reveal of those to be squad members and, at present, that these are 4 ? Considering the number of squad members in ME2, 4 suqad members would seem way not enough.

Yes, absolutely. It's like, you know, reading Two Towers. You get the setup on the first hundred pages of the Fellowship, then you skip the rest, skip the next book, and then only read the second half of the Return of the King.

Or you can play the game for its own sake.

And yet again, they did not reveal everything.
If they'd reveal everything now, they would have nothing for E3.

Wow people are over reacting to early reveals, Garrus wasn't revealed until late, he's STILL not on the ME2 website.

The only things I'm worried about in the article is "Cerberus trying to kill you" If that's true I've lost all hope for "choices matter" and "rebuilding you team" I just spent a game building a team, I don't care who is on it in ME3 I don't want to waste time building it.

I doubt Shep will spend time building a team. You didn't build a team in ME 1 - they joined up as you played through the game. The same will likely happen in ME3.

ME2:

You resolved the heretic/geth issue with Legion.

You find a prototype cure for the genophage.

You pushed for peace between the quarian/geth.

You destroyed a powerful Reaper ally (Collectors) and might have some of their tech.

ME3 will probably further enhance ME2 seeing as we haven't seen the repercussion of our actions just yet.

Yeah well what they did to DA2, I wouldn't be suprised if Shephard and the Specialists were totalled and replaced by different characters. And the story line was nothing to do with the first two in the series.

I hope not because I feel that ME1 and ME2 to the be the best games I have played ever. And I have played a lot of them in 25 years I've been gaming - Half-Life, Deus Ex, Crysis, COD etc. But none have kept my interest like ME2, I've completed six playthroughs to get different characters in place ready for ME3.

The trouble is that Bioware/EA seem to want to tinker with the storyline and characters to appeal to new markets.

Just one last thing...."DON'T **** WITH ME3"

ME2 team was assembled for the purpose of Suicide Mission....it's no wonder some of ME2 squadies might not appear again in ME3.

Garrus IS back.....most important info for me.
