One thing that pisses me off here, though, is that this information is all from an American only magazine. So basically, fans from elsewhere, like Europe, are left in the dark, especially with screenshots.

Yea, but as an European, let me say this: move to the US - Europe is a sinking ship.

But this ship can't sink!?!?!

...

Honestly, I don't understand why people complain about some characters returning that they don't particularly like (aka Liara). Few people like everyone anyway, and if you don't like someone, there is joy/options to tell them that... that is some comfort, no?

now that this information is released.... I FEEL LIFE COURSING THROUGH MY VEINS

From what I understand (this is just me speculating from recent info), is that there may be a certain amount of "squadmate slots". So there are plenty of returning characters to choose from, but you have a limited amount of spaces. So it may be possible that you can select any squadmates you want, but not all of them. This is just speculation, maybe Bioware has something up their sleeve.

I can't believed I just spoiled all that info for myself, but I totally called the "Cerberus-out-to-kill-Shepard-no-matter-what" plotline since day one. F*** yeah
And kudos to whoever first came up with the ShepTrial theory!

Not sure if I was first, but I remember speculating on Shep being put on trial back when we were all wondering what the final 'bridging' DLC was going to be, just before the clues to Arrival started to appear.*

See, the Alliance has enough to court martial Shepard without him/her  **squerphing-what-got-squerphed** in Arrival, just from, you know, working with an avowed terrorist organisation and flying around in tech stolen from them. If Chuck Norris started working with Al Quaeda in a bootlegged JSF, I'm pretty sure Uncle Sam would like to put even him on trial.

In fact, be a bit of a shame if those folks who didn't play Arrival got saddled with the **squerphing** charge. I'd feel a bit cheated if "I" did something of that magnitude off-screen, and that was the only reason I was in the dock at the start of ME3. I'm hoping those of us who played Arrival just get a bit of a sterner telling off. Not that I'll know - all my playthroughs *will* include Arrival.

I'm sorry if this has been asked before but... what about Miranda?

At the end of ME2, it seemed she somehow "had" to stick with Shepard, having turned against Cerberus (and other stuff). Is there no official word about her returning yet?

I'd die to see a cat fight between her and Ashley over Shepard's love :D :D

I doubt it, if you could choose your permanent squad members that would mean that they would have to create an extensive dialogue tree for every potential permanent squad mate - too much work/money.

I could be wrong, but that one fellow above the the box with Sanders' profile seems to have a tattoo of Cerberus' logo on his shoulder.

Insert from Game Informer mag~~~some squadmate character will be important to the story others will be used for only one mission, others you can choose to have or not and some will just make a cameo

I guess Liara and James Sanders would be the major squadmates, since they never 'died' in previous games. others are most likely variables~~And also Ashley/Kaiden, but I can not figured how they can be important to the story

Anyone noticed that the that whole returning squadmate bit is followed immediately by "to some extent"?

Temper your hopes and expectations people. Not everyone is coming back full-time, sadly. We just don't know who is full-time and who is part-time yet.

My guess is LI's will be full-time.

Its strange that they havent confirmed any squad mates.

Maybe ME3 is now Shepard alone.

Like Arrival.

Oh god.

Not really. We've still got quite a while til ME3 is released.

I think considering it's only April we should be incredibly thankful for what we've gotten and not expect too much (E3 undoubtedly notwithstanding) for a couple of months.

Just in case this isn't a joke, there are four confirmed squadmates (three for those who HAVE NO SOUL let Garrus die): Liara, the VS, Garrus and the FNG Sanders. Just sayin'.Image IPB

I'm guessing that he's Kai Leng from the novels. I really really hope he's a boss fight. I want to cut through Cerberus SOBs so much. (OTOH, I do kinda feel for the Renegade players who want to stick with Cerberus. Must be like how we Paragon types felt when we were forced to work with 'em. Ah, shoe-horning...)

The game will by default feature a "previously on Mass Effect" comic to make decisions with if starting from scratch.

You can't do/have "X" / Plot point "X" won't matter in the third game because PS3 players and default ME2 Sheps can't make those decisions in the first game!
Aaand another one bites the dust! ...hopefully! [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/grin.png[/smilie]

The Illusive Man also plays a prominent role, and Cerberus is out to kill Shepard. Reason why is unknown at this point.

Sounds to me like indoctrination (Renegade) or butthurtedness (Paragon).
Either way, I'm glad and so are my Sole Survivor Sheps. Get rid of the Cerberus trademarks on the Normandy and give the crew new uniforms! [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/lol.png[/smilie]

Everyone complaining about Mordin must be forgetting how often he dies on the higher difficulty settings. I like his character and look forward to conversing with him. I hope I do not take to the battlefield with again.
