Hi

I am considering buying some DLC's like Witch Hunt

What if I have chosen the Ultimate Sacrifice as ending for my main character, and later decide to play a DLC like Witch Hunt. How is this happening, and how will it affect my previous choises?

About Ultimate Sacrifice; It just seems anticlimactic that a hero which just gave his life to save Ferelden from Darkspawn, still walks around and doing alternative parts of the story, when the main story is finished.

Please enlighten me, I am a bit confused here

P.S. So that I avoid making the same topic in Mass Effect 2 forum, can someone please answer me as well how it works in ME2? Will I also be able to buy DLCs and finish them after I have completed my main story? Or is it best if I play those DLCs before the main story is completed?

Thanks in advance

Well, about DAO I'd say that the Ultimate Sacrifice seems to be Non-Canonic to BioWare,

Spoilers Follow

when you have finished Awakening for example and played as your warden from Origins the epilogue even says that he didn't stay commander of the new wardens for long and rumors are around that he's been seen on travels to Orlais, searching for the witch he defeated the arch demon with.

I came across the same question and answered it for me like this:

Lelianas Song > Dragon Age: Origins > Golems of Amgarrak > Dragon Age: Awakening > Witch Hunt

Why Lelianas Song is first should be clear, afterwards the big main plot sets in, Chronicles of Darkspawn is clearly excluded because non canon, at the end of Origins your warden if he survived has the option to say "I'm planning to go travel for a while" which I did, from the end of Origins until the beginning of Awakening it are six months so you could say he has is Amgarrak-Adventure about 3 months after the end of Origins. And the last two I explained just above.

Well, that's the order of events as I see it and it seems most logical to me.

About Mass Effect 2:

You can start to play EVERY DLC of Mass Effect 2 right after the Mission on Horizon, for DLC's like Zaeed & Kasumi it also makes sense, so you have two new crew members as early as possible and can go on adventures with them too. Some others like Firewalker, Overlord and so on make sense when played before finishing the game, but you can still play them when you've finsihed it.

LotSB and Arrival are considerd to be played after the Main Story is done, but you can also already play them while still in the story, but this may leave open some logical gaps.

Arrival, for it is the very last Mass Effect 2 DLC should be played after everything else is finished, because the end really intends to do so.

Well, I hope I could be of help :)

Awakening cannot be done after Golems.

Chronologically, Golems of Amgarrak take place after Awakening, but prior to Witch Hunt. You receive the letter adressed specifically to Knight commander of Vigil keep beginning the golems module.

I can't dig it up now, but I recall someone saying that your progress flags will only save correctly if you do import from Awakening to Golems, but not other way.

Thanks for the replies

So I assume this would be the most "correct" order: Lelianas Song > Dragon Age: Origins > Dragon Age: Awakening > Golems of Amgarrak > Witch Hunt
