I realize Isabela racks up quite a body count by the end of the game what with her being a rather massive damage machine, but in the case of the Qunari attack... why would you say that it's Isabela's fault that the Qunari killed so many people, and not the Qunari's fault that the Qunari killed so many people? I mean.. honestly, it's not like Isabela ran around killing civilians. She didn't use blood magic to force the Qunari to attack. She may have been the reason the Qunari were there, but the Qunari are the reason the Qunari were killing people.

Hmmmmm, subliminal messages!

The Arishok is very strong, honest and worthy of respect.

The Arishok is physically strong, he is mentally weak.
He is honest only because the Qun demands it. He has no personal morals or honour. He follows his directives.
He is a robot, he isn't worthy of respect. He doesn't think for himself, he merely exists as an appendage of the Qun, and not a very good one at that.

I don't see the point in killing him to defend someone who is the exact opposite.

You're sparing him the embarassment of yet another failure.
This incompetent buffoon shouldn't be leading a tickertape parade, let alone an army.

Hawke flipped Isabela's body to expose her weak point for massive damage?

Another Isabela apologist.

Sure, go ahead with the ad hominems. They do so much for your credibility, don't they?

I lack credibility when it comes to video game characters?

At least I know what an ad hominem is. I shall take solace in that.

But I might as well say somthing substancial now that I'm here. Personally, she can be funny and nice to look at. But personality is really a turn off, Isabella only cares about herself and her own life.

Really? You don't see the point in killing the military leader of an extremist cult that not only strips individuals of their free wiil, but whose long term goal is to conquer and violently convert every civilization they encounter? Neither Sten nor the Arishok make even the slightest attempt to hide the fact that the Qunari plan to invade all of Thedas.

And the Arishok is a hypocrite. He demands that Isabela be made to submit to Qunari law but refused to hand over Kirkwall criminals when the same request was made of him. If murderous elves are free of Kirkwall justice because they submit to the law of the Qun, then the opposite should be said for Isabela, whose direct crime, theft, is much less severe.

Plaintiff, you make a really excellent point about the Arishok's hypocrisy. On my first playthrough, I was definitely trying to appease old Mr. Horn-Head, but by the second go-round his bull**** was starting to ****** me off and I couldn't pinpoint the source of my annoyance.  I believe you have summed it up quite nicely.

As for Isabela, she is a pirate after all.  If you haven't put in the effort to develop a personal relationship (whether it be friendship or rivaly, you can't really blame her for looking out for herself.  That's what pirates do.

That being said, she is one of my favorite companions for sheer entertainment value; Aveline+Isabela+Merill= Win
