update with new info.

Prologue
(story spoiler)
- Game begins with Shepard on Earth
- Shepard is on trial in regard to the events of Arrival
- Reapers invade while the trial is happening
- Prologue: Shepard’s escape to the Normandy, off to start finding allies, fighting Reaper troops

Comic
- Game will show a “previously on Mass Effect” comic to make decisions if you’re starting from scartch

Squads
- Squadmates include Liara, Ashley/Kaiden, Garrus, James Sanders
- Available Squadmates will still maintain a balance, if per say Garrus had not survived ME2's events.
-Confirmed appearances (may not be squadmates): Wrex, Mordin, Legion, and Anderson
- Screenshot shown of Ashley with her hair down
- Who you have in your squad and which allies you recruit greatly impact the endings that are available

Cerberus (story spoiler)

- The Illusive Man plays a big role
- Cerberus is out to kill Shepard

RPG
- Enhanced RPG elements
- Numerous endings
- Species Loyalty cannot only get obtained via Quests

Skill builds
- More freedom with character skills
- Larger skill trees
- Powers will evolve several times, not just once

Battle mechanics
-Levels will have ladders
-Enemy Weapons can be PICKED UP
-Battlefields are going to be a great deal larger
-Shooting specific armor parts can have certain effects
-Improved AI
-Combat much harder melee attacks are going to have more focus.
-Husk will take various form

Weapons / classes
- Weapons are like the ones in Mass Effect 2, have a set list
-Mods returning, swap out different parts such as barrels, scopes
(effect both the weapon’s combat performance and its appearance)
- All classes can wield all weapons unhindered now,
- There will be limited slots to carry these weapons
- Soldier can carry all weapons at once
- Adept, Engineer, and Sentinal will likely be limited to two weapons, three for Vanguard and Infiltrator

Multiplayer
- No multiplayer

So what are you thinking about all the info revealed in Game Informer ? Much of what I see there seem pretty good and answer all the complaint made from some users about Mass Effect 2 especially. (small skill tree/weapons/mods/limited slots for weapons/free use of weapons...).

It looks like we might be getting a decent compromise on weapons. Mass Effect 2 weapons were varied and each served a different role. There were some exceptions, but by and large ME2 weapons weren't just linear progressions in terms of stats. The Mantis/Widow is one exception that leaps to mind. I don't know enough about the Avenger, Collector Assault Rifle, or GPR to speak intelligently on those.

Weapon mods are something that a lot of people missed. I'll remain cautiously optimistic about their return, even though I didn't make extensive use of them in ME1. I pretty much just tossed on the extra damage vs. X and rolled with it.

It will be interesting to see what they do with ammo, though. Ammo powers drew some complaints from the WE WANT REALISM crowd, but I didn't mind them. They function fine in terms of gameplay even if they don't make all that much sense from a lore perspective.

I'm excited about the weapon mods. Hopefully there are different type of ammunition but this time they are mods again and not powers. Also I can only hope they don't forget the weapon hotkeys this time. And while we're at it, they should add 2 more power hotkeys as well.

I anticipate the return of Ammo Powers, either that or an increase in the amount of passive skills available, which seems unlikely.  With larger skill trees, what sorts of skills is the Soldier going to get if Ammo Powers become Ammo Mods?  Grenades?  Yish*.

*Grenades have potential.  I have no trouble aiming grenades in RE5 or Gears of War.  Why is it such a pain in ME2, a game where I can tactically pause?  I admit I haven't devoted any time to practicing.  It just feels like it should be more intuitive.  Anyone else feel this way?

Incendiary Grenade are a pain in the ass in ME2. Flashbang seem to be okay, but it's mostly because the radius is bigger...

Sounds pretty good, glad to see Ashley is back, seems strange that Cerberus is out to get you given the circumstances...

I'm very excited about it. Weapon mods? I loved those. The ability to choose your own weapon types for all classes? That's what I was missing in ME2.

"Enhanced RPG elements" can mean a lot of things, but I would love larger skill trees with multiple evolutions. 4 very expensive ranks of skills made builds too similar.

That would depend on Shep's decisions at the end of ME2. It would be weird if the reward for handing over a hightech collector base would be a death warrant. I can relate to TIM's frustration when Shep destroys the base and gives Cerberus the finger though. :)

If I was TIM, I would get medieval on Shep's ass.

You know, I promised myself I won't look at any news for ME3 lest I end up disappointed but blimey, that's some fantastic stuff! Weapon mods, more RPG elements, several evolutions of powers, numerous endings?!

Now tell me there's going to be destructible environment and I'll go crazy with excitement!

I just thought it odd, but apparently TIM can be vindicative if you go against his will (one of the books I believe) so maybe he will try to get medieval, he just might have wanted to wait a bit though...

It seems weird that so many Squaddies would jsut disappear...I mean, you fought with them the whole time and do the Suicide mission with them and then...they leave you?

Regarding TIM and Cerberus; it makes sense that he would be after you regardless: 1. if you destroy the base, of course he is out to get you; 2. if you don't he is Indoctrinated by the Reapres and he is out ot get you...both paths lead to a break from Cerberus...

Ammo Powers...well at least Cryo, Incendiary and Disruptor (love them)...

Hope combat is equal or better because changes could mean reductions in combat fun as well...

All this sounds really, really good.

I managed to stayed (almost) entirely unspoiled for DA2.... But I don't see that happening with ME3. Crap

Personally, I'm hoping to place a few bullet holes in TIM's exquisite suit :)

We're getting a bit OT here, but TIM is at the Collector base (there's a shot somewhere during the Terminator battle where TIM looks down at the scene). Since I spotted him there, I don't trust him at all - I even suspect he's working for (or is) a Reaper. :)

One thing about weapons though; it's fine and good that all classes should have access to them but for example, an Infiltrator by nature should be a better Sniper than an Adept so I hope there is some weapon USAGE differentiation...

WTH is James Sanders?? The Big Ben sniper??

I'm a bit concerned about just having 2 weapons for the non-combat classes... but if was good enough for MC, then maybe it'll be enough for me.

Son of Admiral Col. Sanders, best known for killing many Batarians on Torfan by throwing fried chicken at them. Do not disrespect.

Quite a few of them, Samara, Mordin, Thane, Jack, all pretty much bluntly state that they're leaving after the suicide mission is over. The only person who literally has no where to go is Garrus, and possibly Tali if you got her exiled.

I'm serious.

Majority of the squad only signed up for the suicide mission. It's just like how Garrus and Wrex split after the first game even though they "knew" about the impending threat. Some members, like Samara, Jack, and Mordin point blank state that they're just there for the mission. So really, It's not a shocker that most of the squadmates went their seperate ways since they're not joined to Shepard by the hip.
