I can't speak for everyone, but I really stunk at playing DA2 on normal. The waves were what killed my enjoyment. It forced me to set it on easy. When I heard about the infinite  money/xp glitch it renewed my interest to play the game again. I had a blast when my team were at a higher level, I even liked the waves when I was stroger. I really don't know how I will feel once the patch eliminates it.

use the glitch now and save those characters early in the game. then you can always use those save files again in the future after the glitch is patched.

Once the patch is out, you can clear your systems memory cache, and it will delete all updates. You have to play the game offline though, or it'll keep giving you the update notice when you turn it on. I actually did this on Fallout 3 to get the neutral playthrough achievements, which I dont feel bad for considering I played it through twice the right way.

Yeah, all things considered, I liked the exploit. It kinda felt like insta-karma for all the flaws in the rest of the game. ;-)

I didn't completely abuse it, but on a couple of characters I have bumped them up a level, if my Exp bar is past 50%. Plus, before the patch, I plan on creating a Warrior with high dex/cunning, just to wear a few nifty Rogue items.

The level increase made me forgive the game for everyone of it's short comings and gave a bit more longevity for me. The other big bonus is that it gave me a chance to buy all the weapons and armor from the shop so that I can make a Hawke that I can be proud to call my own. My mage is wearing armor and may as well be a Arcane Warrior. Though to compensate my level 40+ Mage I play his adventure on hard.

I remember someone mention the possibility that the patch might need a new save file in order to cover some glitches that occurred with those of us who transferred the Witch hunt save file over.

My only problem is the save file I consider to be "my canon" is a Amgarak/Witch Hunt file that also has the architect killed. Which means my main file will have to be played on easy if the normal difficulty remains in future installments of DA.

I did two full playthroughs before discovering the unlimited XP/money glitch. It just added a whole new layer of fun, and to be honest, even being at level 50, the enemies aren't easy. I think they level with you, just like loot.

I have two level 25 characters (done properly), and two level 50 characters, done with the cheat. I agree that it is fun to buy any items you want, and put armor on a Rogue, and robes on a Warrior just for the lulz.

The old infinite glod glitch from DA:O still exists so if you just want gold without all the extra XP that option probably will never be fixed. Because the game scales I kind of have a feeling that levelling up too much is probably a poor idea as the gear won't scale but the enemies will get way stronger.

Infinite money glitch = Put an item in junk press Y then A (you must basically press them at the same time but Y just a micro second earlier. You will sell the item twice. Buy it back and do it again.

I can't comment on the Warrior class, but I can tell ya the Rogue and Mage benefit from the glitch tremendously. Mages are like gods. To have three Level 40 mages in your team is EPIC. The Rogues become more versaltile being able to work both long and close range.

Technically that exploit is makes things harder. While you may have higher attributes and more tallents/spells, your equipment is far inferior. For example, you start the exploit at level 5 with level 5 epuipment, your enemies are also level 5 with level 5 equipment. You then use the exploit to get to level 20. You are level 20, your enemies are level 20, but you still have level 5 equipment and your enemies have level 20 equipment. By doing that you are at a major disadvantage until you find level 20 equipment, but that makes the named weapons with awesome bonuses almost useless because their damage is so much lower than a common weapon.

Somewhat true, but not a disadvantage at all. Loot levels too, and so do merchant wares from one act to the next. I no longer use the previously awesome weapons/armor from when I was lower level, but what I buy or get in loot. My current warrior has 400+ armor chestplates in Act II. It makes the Champion armor look pitiful. :P Again, I think it's only for fun, and only if you have already completed the game a couple of times without any cheats.

The cheat makes the game so much more playable as a mage. I like having spells at my disposal, the sucky part is, by level 50 all the armor and weapons that have rune slots are weak, so you're stuck with the generic runeless stuff.

Generated items (shops and drops) level with you. It's not that big a deal, it just means that unique weapons and armor become obsolete.

I actually liked that the exploit made things a bit harder. I just wanted to get more spells faster, not make it easier.

Everything levels up with you so it really doesn't matter. I actually think they should release character/save editors as unlockables for beating the game and then people could edit their characters however they like. Disable certain achievements if you are using an edited character.

I've used this a little on playthroughs after my first, mostly just to get cash to buy stuff at stores (especially ability/attribute boosters) but not to excessively level. Very annoying that if you don't do this, there's only enough cash in the game to buy 2 or 3 of the big ticket items.

Even in my straight playthrough, the generic loot would outpace the named/special gear. Which is also a poor design flaw.

Well, it certainly does not make the game any easier if you go all the way up to level 50, it actually makes it harder because then you will never be able to reach 100% hit chance against normal enemies, which means you glance a lot more on higher ranked enemies. Playing a Warrior, with talents that increase Attack value my percentage never went above 97.8 for normal enemies.

It also means enemies will be doing more damage than playing through it regularly, mostly toward the end, because your armor will never be rated above Zero Stars. Although, the abilities that increase your defense and armor values can help to even it out a bit.

I found a "sweet spot" level though at 15-19 in Act 1, you have enough abilities and upgrades to make the game more interesting but the enemies aren't overpowering you as much as they do at level 50 even through to the end of the game.

That being said: I will miss it too.  It will be a pain to clear cache, play game without update just to get tons of EXP and Gold early on, and reconnect to the internet.

What infinite code? Gold glitch still works same way it has since DA:O.
