I did the Nexus Golem's Gauntlet as a Mage, and it was a whole lot of fun. Contrary to popular (read: stupid) belief, mages are not weak, and I finished it in the same amount of time as my Warrior and Rogue, give or take a bit here and there, due to pausing. I recorded a video, and my capture device kinda shat itself, but I've uploaded it anyway, and you can decide whether or not to watch.
Two-Minute Nexus Golem Gauntlet ClearI'm fully aware that Revenants are cold immune, but I just bought Cold-Blooded, and I wanted to goddamn use it. Sue me.
@Anubis:
I would rethink the Defender tree, since Fenris (as stated earlier) doesn't need Elemental Aegis for magic immunity. I suppose you could do it if you don't want to blow money on the Etched Ring of the Twins.
For Anders, I'd take the points out of Crushing Prison, and put them in upgraded Heal/Haste. With a BRITTLE from you, and an Archer's Lance from Varric, you'll make Elites dead, instead of just locked down. Two Chain Lightnings are good for staggers.
I think you're missing out on a LOT by not getting Punishing Lance for Varric. He has one-shotted almost every single BRITTLE Elite I have come across thus far with it. If you really plan on going for broke with the Walking Bomb, I'd put one point into Speed, and take the rest of the points from the Specialist tree, and put them into Sabotage for Fatiguing Fog. I'd also take out Overtime and the Kickback upgrade from his personal tree.
Keep in mind, these are only my half finished mage playthrough opinions, and I'm just going off of what has worked for me.
