Well, I wish I had realized this was a server problem 2 hours ago before I started my troubleshooting.

Yup, severs still down. Very annoying. What if I want to play this game 10 years from now and Bioware doesn't support it anymore or something. I'll never be able to play DLC because it can't be authorized? Ugh.

You can play if you log out as long as you have a profile file that was being used when it was authorised.
So if you have the file you only ever need to have authorised it once.

Okay now this things are getting worse now I'm getting the dreaded MSVCR80.dll crash even though I have .net framework 4.0 (just downloaded it). I tried making a new game and the cut scenes and creation are fine but as soon as it hits game play it crashes.

All of this is suppose to protect the game but we can all be side that the pirates cracked it anyways and its simply annoying paying customers.

Having the same problem.

I have steam but not for this game (have the ulimate edition disks).
Tried to repair which didn't work so I tried reinstall the game but still can't connect the game.
Even changed from manuelly to automatic in services.msc and tried to start it but still nothing.
I grow more furious every time I try to make it work. =(

It's okay, I've finished the game now. ;)

That last step is a doozy...

I am also having this issue, non-steam user with discs. Been playing regularly and all of a sudden all DLC is unauthorized. I changed nothing else on my computer in between play sessions. Annoying!

Aye, exactly. It needs to be sorted. Surely one authorisation check when we first install the DLC is enough?

Same problem here, but without Steam. Also it's strange that in the Downloadable Content menu it says I don't have any BioPoints on my account even though I've actually 80 points left. Server/network problem there? I'm encountering these problems since yesterday... :(

As long as you run it logged out it seems to have all content available for the game.
Even if you log out while being automatically logged into the game.
You can also run all "other campaigns".. witch hunt and Awakenings.. etc, if logged out.

One question, does being logged in have any baring on importing saves.
Will I lose any changes if I use the save later on for DA2 or another campaign?

Sussurus- being logged out changes nothing.

From what I understand, if you regularly play logged out, then this problem won't affect you unless you log in. But once you've got it, as far as I can tell you've got it.

That's how my system is, anyway. It doesn't matter whether I'm logged in or out. I'm just screwed.

You are not alone on that point Rahven32.
Got some peace and quiet after some unexpected visitors (my relatives) and wanted to have some quality time with this game but with the server down I can't think on something else to do.
I hope the servers will come up soon or I will stay up all night if I have to. =P

Thanks for that, I just did not want to continue only to find out nothing would get saved.

Are you sure about not logging out?
I just ran it, installed and working DLC content when logged out.
As soon as I log in it causes them to cease functioning.
Tried multipule times, always play logged in when I play, give it a go it may work.

Where the hell is BioWare Support? A lot of people are really frustrated, can they at least confirm to us that it's a problem on the Servers?

Oh great with that quick fix I can play but the game likes the crash during combat now :D

Also I doubt they'll say anything, Bioware is owned by Ea and you know how EA is.

The server works for Dragon Age 2 seems to be a Dragon Age problem.:(
I can play the game when I log out from the Servers with all DLC.

This isn't new a problem, you'd think by now they'd have fixed this by now. I won't be buying any more DLC for their games while this idiotic system remains in place. I might have a game of Fallout 3 instead, a game made by a company that doesn't treat its paying customers like common thieves.

I agree with your sentiment entirely, but Fallout 3 isn't much better. It uses the dreaded Games for Windows Live!

I recently bought DA:O - Ultimate Addition and as of today can no longer access my save games...'The saved game contains premium content. To load save game, owner of premium content must be logged in'.

Downloadable content is listing all add-ons as available to buy but they are still listed under my installed content as unauthorized.

I've already tried the following and nothing helps;

Ensured premium content code has been redeemed
Verified DLC is correctly added
Connected game to DA servers
Shutdown and restarted PC
Manually started DAO Content Updater Service
Patched game
Run DA Diagnostic
Checked profile.dap.file is writable

What else is there to do?...can't access my saved games or create a new game has it won't authorise my premium content.
