Just started playing DA:O and, personally, I think it's the best thing I've played since NWN first came out. I love it.

I love it so much that I didn't want to bother wasting time updating software when I could just play. I waited a couple of days (five) to install updates and whatnot, and now my disk won't read in the PS3. I can get other games to run no problem but DA:O just spins and the screen goes grey/black, it tries to load, the screen jumps a bit and then brings me back to the PS3 home screen. I never see the game screen.

Let me add the following important details:

• I'm a girl
• I'm not very experienced with consoles
• I'm very sad about this and kind of panicked that something is wrong with my PS3 or the game

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Clean the disk. Try that first.

If that doesn't work, there should be a Game Data option on your XMB game area. Delete the stuff in there for DAO and reinstall it all. Patch it. Then see if it works. Don't delete your saved games. There's a separate section for game data.
