Ah, those are so cool! :3

w_lsw_006a

If you could make their name be Imperium-themed, that'd be great. In Origins, it says that the Imperium mass-produced these from Qunari models.

Changing the name would be better left for completely custom items, not replacers. What dagger would you like me to use as a base?

Oh, didn't realise that. ^^

Hm...whatever you think is best. As long as it improves with Level up, I'm happy. ^_^

Why do you say that?

is it possible to have two handed talent animations with a staff equipped? ie. using mighty blow with the staff of parthalan like in the destiny trailer...

Why do you say that?

Because it will affect any other copy of that item you may have saved. Say you have a Fereldan Longsword, and you have a copy of that as it originally appeared in the game, and you also have a modded version of it already, both say Fereldan Longsword. Now you change the model some other stats and name of yet a 3rd mod of that same item and swap out that replacer and now  all 3 swords have the same name because they are all from the same reference file.
I suppose some people would be ok with that, though I wouldn't.

No, meaning you cant have both staff and 2h sword aninms on the same weapon type. Additionally, the staff with 2h anims would look rather goofy with the staff being wielded like a 2 hand sword in evey manner.

More humorous weapon descriptions FTW

A somewhat challenging request:

You know the Qunari pole weapon that you see in the Sheparding Wolf quest:

Posted Image

Is actually quite similar to the Mutiny staff (a staff in Act 3, gen_im_wep_mag_sta_act3_07.uti IIRC)

I wish that Mutiny actually LOOK EXACTLY like that Qunari Pole weapon. It's for RP purposes, really, as Apostate Mage Hawke should be using a weapon that is not obviously Magical.

Thanks a bunch!

This is particularly challenging because the model needs to be rotated 180 degrees so that the blade side is pointing down (like all other Mage staves). But a few Mage staves have inverted versions (I saw a staff which is an inverted version of Cold Blooded/The Final Thought) and if anyone can do it, it's you.

Oh, I thought we were only talking about unique items. I see now =]

The Qunari Pole weapon I posted a picture of is
gen_im_npc_wep_two_qunb.uti

Although, I'd actually prefer
gen_im_npc_wep_two_qune.uti

which is a very simplistic spear. They are both classified as Two-Handed weapons though, and the blade ends are pointing upwards (needs a 180 degree rotate).

^ That is Mutiny, gen_im_wep_mag_sta_act3_07.uti, accessible via additem.

I was thinking of *expanding* on the concept, i.e. a Mage staff that looks like a genuine pole weapon, and I thought

gen_im_npc_wep_two_qunb.uti
gen_im_npc_wep_two_qune.uti

are both good starting points.

gen_im_npc_wep_two_qunb.uti looks like a more vicious version of Mutiny, inverted 180 degrees.
gen_im_npc_wep_two_quna.uti is basically Eye of the Storm inverted 180 degrees.

I find these curious from a modding point of view- perhaps you will come up with something better if you play around a bit more? My powers ends at the Save Editor, so there is not much I can do.

P.S. Adding these Qunari pole weapons to a Warrior Hawke actually makes Hawke use them like a 2-Hand weapon, *blunt end* towards the enemy. It is quite hilarious.

Check out
gen_im_npc_wep_two_qune.uti

I think if you can turn it into a Mage staff, it would look more badass than Staff of Parthalan.
It's a razor sharp spear with a very slick design. I love it.

Oh, and if you could name it, I'd recommend "Ream-Ward" as a name. It's a good name.

Ream_Ward is actually a Sword in the game... confusion would abound.

the pic above is technically a staff, but the game is identifying it as a spear. I'll have to play around with the data and asee if I can change that withpout creating a completely custom item as apposed to a replacer.

Edit: Looks like I found a way around that, so what you see in the pic above IS the Mutiny staff with the spear appearance.

^ AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME that's exactly what I'm talking about! THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

How did you invert it for 180 degrees? You're a genius!

Personally, I think this staff will be just as popular as Staff of Parthalan, for the exact same reason: it looks like an ACTUAL weapon instead of a gnarly twig plucked from a random tree.

Edit: Although I doubt if calling it 'Mutiny' is the best idea, you know, since it would be ironic to side with the Templars if you're an Apostate!Mage!Hawke wielding a staff called 'Mutiny'. But again, I'm a Templar-appeasing coward (on the surface- I prefer subterfuge).

How about 'Tiger's Tail'? Or, if you could use an original name, I would suggest 'Sting'. Or 'Ray Of One' (Ray=> Sun=> Sunnie). Or 'My Point'. Yeah, 'My Point' would be great. Think of all the puns Hawke could make with it!

"Oh, you missed My Point." "Don't worry, you'll get My Point eventually." "That's My Point!" "Got My Point? Good!" "You'll never forget My Point, after this is finished."

Is there any chance you can name it "My Point"? (see the last 2 paragraphs of my last post)

I don't like to change the name of items with replacers, not so happy things sometimes happen.
