I have the standard edition of DAO, as well as, DAO Awakening, and when I logged in today all of my DLC is unauthorized. I am logged in, and registered, and I cleared my DLC cache. Any assistance will be appreciated.

It seems to be a problem with the servers.

Word is that they are fixing it at the moment.

Be patient.

Oh, alright, my mistake, I did not realize that there was a problem. Thank you very much.

so, where can i go to find word that the servers are the issue? this problem seems to be endemic to the game itself and has been an issue for at least a year as far as i can tell.

Mallishious, I cannot give you anything credible but I can tell you that I cannot do a single thing on my end to fix the Unauthorized DLC issue. I have tried everything that both BioWare and EA suggest on their technical support forums.
Alex, thank you for sharing that lovely piece of information. I bought the Ultimate Edition last night, and the DLC was working perfectly until I got back on this morning. While BioWare fiddles with this issue, I'll just finish the base campaign on my Mage. :3 Thanks again!

As far as I can tell, the conclusion that the servers are at fault is because a TON of people jumped online all at once to report having this problem pop up out of nowhere on previously functional systems.

The conclusion that bioware is aware of the problem and working to fix it seems unsubstantiated. It seems based on an assumption that, if the servers are the problem, then bioware would naturally be working on the problem. That may be a fair assumption, but it hasn't been confirmed by anyone official as far as I can tell.

Is there someplace I can check and see when this is up and running again? I just got the same message, that I couldn't play because my DLC is unauthorized. (Despite having paid for it, and played with it without issue until today)

I too am having the same problem. It says I'm logged in to the servers but won't let me access my saved game. I understand the need to take anti-piracy measures, but when those measures mean that legitimate customers can't actually play the game they've paid for...? Well, far from progress, that seems like a serious backwards step to me.

I am having the same problem too. Was playing all day with a short break and now its not working anymore. Since my boyfriend has the same problem on his account too, the servers seem to be indeed the problem.

Ah, I wanted to add an update when I fixed the problem, but alas, I got caught up in playing Awakening for the first time. Anywho, this is what fixed my DLC:

If you have made sure you are signing in with the correct account, and it still doesn't work, please try following the steps listed below. Be sure to follow these instructions exactly.
•Close out of the game. Go to My Documents/Bioware/Dragon Age/Settings.
•Find the Addins.xml file and open it with Word Pad, Notepad, or any XML editor.
•Press Ctrl. A to select all, then Ctrl. C to copy.
•Paste the copied text into a new Notepad, Word Pad, or Word document and save the file. This will be your back-up.
•Go back to the Addins.xml file and replace all entries that read RequiresAuthorization="1" with RequiresAuthorization="0".
•NOTE: Make sure you do not make any other changes.

•Save and close the document and try running the game.
•If this has no effect, restore settings by pasting the contents of your backup document back into the Addins.xml, then Save and Close.

I've got the same problem too. It happened about 12 hours ago for me, and I haven't been able to play since.

This is absolutely ridiculous. If this is this far widespread, Bioware should disable the authorisation nonsense in case it happens again. I don't appreciate not being able to play a game I've spent over $200 on.

Visual; You just turned your dlc off for all gameplay purposes... Make sure you revert the change once service comes up again.
