As for the other changes, the high majority of them will work on the fly. Some, unfortunately, are already baked in to your saves and will require a fresh playthrough. Sorry :(

That is unfortunate. Would it be possible to get a list of the issues that require a new game for the fix to work after the patch is released? That would certainly ease the decision as to whether people feel they should start from scratch or not(I have several characters and playthoughs; for some I'd rather not start again, for others I wouldn't mind deleting them and start with a fresh character). Thanks. :)

Agh, just today I realized that my character was affected by the infamous bug that affects animation speed (you know, isabella's friendship bug and some other items that affect the animation speed), I checked it with the save game editor and it was showing a scary -18 ... I hope that this patch at least correct the issue (I can modify the save file but hell, I don't want to modify it all the time).

Regardless of what this patch fixes or doesn't, I am going to start to play it after it is released. I'm tired of staring at the game on my shelf now.

I don't know about anyone else, but I would love some clarification on whether the "Slo-Mo/Maker's Sigh/Friendship" bug fix is going to require restarting from scratch.

Quick question; is the new patch cumulative with the first one, or do I need to download the 1.01 first and then the new one when released?

It shouldn't matter. Installing straight from 1.00 should work fine.

What about the Hi-Res patch? Will that get auto-added in with 1.02? My copy is still fresh 1.00.

I could be wrong, but I don't think the hi-res textures would be affected by any patches.

As for the other changes, the high majority of them will work on the fly. Some, unfortunately, are already baked in to your saves and will require a fresh playthrough. Sorry :(

Any chance of information being made available so that those players with brave hearts and an inclination to tinker could use a savegame editor to fix the simpler ones?

Which ones? I'd like a list before I decide deleting my current playthrough. Considering I have a save in act 1 end I would think I could continue my save bug free since all the bugs are in second or third chapter.

At the beginning of Act II, I installed The Exiled Prince. I was able to do both the Act I and Act II companion quests for Sebastian. However since loading this expansion I have run into problems such as:
1) not being able to loot a couple defeated named adversaries,
2) unable to access dungeons in another quest (and I have diligently followed the Official Game guide on it), and
3) I'm unable to purchase companion upgrades and a gift item for Merrill, Isabela, and Sebastion. I have completed all of the companion quests in Act II except for one.

Does the patch address these issues?

Specifically, the import ones will likely be on a case by case basis. It all depends on where this issue is, be it the conversation pulling data improperly, or the flags not being set right in the first place.

That said, if you want to be 100% sure it will be accurate, start a new game.

What if your game hasn't reached a point where the bug happens yet (i.e. no friendship with Isabela)?

The current import is correct. In Case of an Awakening/DLC save there is only the bug that the game checks for nonexistent values.

I take it no chance of import fixes like the romance and Architect bug?

If I'm understanding what you're saying, you're wrong.  Importing DAO saves also have issues regarding romance flags.  People who romanced Zevran and Alistair ran into the romances not being acknowledged.

It will be nice to have those working properly.

The high-res textures are not a patch as such - and least regarding bug fixes. You can (and have to) download it separately.

This is acceptable and reasonable. The same thing happened for Awakening so I'd only assume as such  for DAII. Regardless, Yay for the patch! :)

Any PC users can already fix the slow motion/damage resistance (friendship) issues, then it sounds like the patch will stop them from occurring in the future. Console users may be out of luck though.

AKA- we bought a beta version on march 8th. dont play the game at all until april 12th...

hey, i know bio has been catching LOTS of BS for (IMO) the wrong reasons. like design decisions/gay-lesbian-hetero options, but the real battle should be fought over the product we bought and its function. i have never bought a bioware game that i couldnt complete a whole month+ after its launch... is this EA or Bio? we will never know.

and while i would LOVE to play paper dolls with all my NPCs i know thats not a part of the game, but is it too much to ask for a working game?

So I understand the DLC import saves don't correctly import the Origins Romance. Is this a bug that might be fixed or is just how the game import system works?

Happy that the patch is here but Luke do you understand that choosing not to provide a solution to people with damaged saves totally invalidates any reason for us to buy your game on or before release day? It was already bad that we had to wait this long, but to not address this issue is really unnaceptable. As I've mentioned in previous posts, either Bioware needs to do more Beta testing ensuring game killing bugs like this don't make it out of the gate, or have a solution ready much much earlier. Telling us that we simply have to start again for baked saves is just icing on the insult cake you've served us. It's not ethical.

Yeah, I really think they should have come up with some sort of solution for that.
