Dowloaded the patch. Checked to see where I picked up the bug. Ah. In Act 1. About 7 hours in.
I really don't feel like replaying 50 hours.
I could complete Mass Effect 2 twice for that.
And do ALL the subquests.
So, BioWare, get onto that Patch 2.0 to REMOVE the Friendship Glitch.
Or, In Dragon Age 2 language-
The Healing Potion was good, but GIVE US THE GODDAMN INJURY KIT ALREADY, OR WE'LL NEVER BE FULLY HEALTHY!!!!!
Rant over.
There's a thread on how to edit saves for the 360 with all the programs you'll need, if you want, I can link you and give you any help I can - the guys on that thread were really helpful to me. With that you can edit your save values once, and the patch should mean never having to do it again (I ran into problems in that editing stopped working for me since I had to do it every few saves, but with the help of those guys found another method an all is well now)

still no access to the bonus items i unlocked -.-'
This is not a bug that I've ever heard of and is probably an issue with your account/registration of those items. Talk to Bioware. A patch isn't going to fix that!

Don't bad mouth Luke, darnit. He's taking his time to really sit down with us, as one of us, listening carefully to our whines and complaints, not answering in bad tones, taking notes and sending them up the chain of command. He's a great asset to us and I feel like hugging his bear avatar every time I see him post.VSpeck wrote...
Remember Luke, you guys brought every bit of it on yourselves.
Be annoyed at BioWare in general if you wish, but don't single Luke out the way you just did. Or you'll face Kidd, defenders of bears! x)
PS, I know your complaint was meant to aim at BioWare in general, but you really hung it in front of Luke there as if it was something he should go home and feel bad about. Don't do that! We need him! DS
Well said KiddDaBeaty.
Luke and Rob have been really good with the communication aspect of things and getting issues resolved.

OK I downloaded the update, started the game, put Isabela in my party, went to Hawke's Estate (Isabela is forced out), I save in Hawkes Estate, reload that save, and the "Thumbs Up" shows up on my Abilities screen. Should I be worried?
This.... (worrysome!)

If your character was already affected by the bug, the bug will still be present. The patch just fixes the bug from happening and from making it worse. The next patch will try to reverse the bug from characters that have already been affected by it.

player accepted all of the board’s quests before installing the Exiled
Prince premium content."
So I can actually play as Seb now and start his questline, awesome.
Added the patch, this is now fixed. :-) I never had the attribute bugs because I always removed Isabella from a change your party station and never got her auto-removed.

It did say in the patch notes that follower ability buffs should now be added/removed correctly - I did know that if you have the bug and it's damaged your base attack speed, it won't fix that part, but buffs being added/removed correctly does imply that 'thumbs up' should no longer be hanging aroung your ability screen if Isabela is not in party. Given that that may not be happening, I'm not sure how much to trust that the bug isn't worsening still. Will wait for more reports.

It is present when you are in the estate but as soon as you travel away without Isabela it will have been removed. At least it is for me
I suppose whether or not it will appear in the estate is not an issue, and what matters is if it causes ever-lowering stats. I'd assume if it's applied pre-save and post-save in the estate, this isn't likely. What was happening before was that it didn't appear pre-save, then was added post-save without the modifier being applied. Anyone done any experimenting with this?

UPDATE: Wednesday, April 13, 2011.
Good news - Microsoft has completed their certification process. Title Update 1.01 is scheduled to go live on X360 sometime tomorrow.
“- The effects of various follower talents and item properties are now being properly removed and re-applied when loading and saving.”
this covers a wide range of cases where the player’s stats were getting incremented or decremented more than they should. In some cases, such as Hawke’s combat speed, this would continue compounding every time you loaded a certain type of save. This bug, and the corresponding fix, are expected to behave the same on consoles as they do on PC/Mac. It’s important to note that
this first patch focuses on preventing the issue from recurring or getting worse.
For the next patch, we’re looking deeper into how to fully reverse the issue and restore normalcy in save games where the error has already occurred.
We look forward to getting Title Update 1.01 into your hands tomorrow.
So the FIRST patch stops it from getting worse, the SECOND fixes it.
So when's the SECOND patch expected, BioWare?

I would actually be quite grateful for a link to that thread, if you don't mind! I tried to figure out the process on my own a few weeks ago and had no luck with it.

Unbelievable.
Like, I don't even know what to say. I have never been a forum whiner in my life, because it has always seemed counterproductive and immature. But, I'm just... I dunno. Speechless! Between the unprofessional manner in which Bioware employees participate in the community - as in, responding somewhat childishly to complaints and banning users from their games for inconsequential remarks in developer chats - and the extended reuse of game assets by an industry-celebrated developer, the whole DA2 debacle is pretty laughable.
Something as simple as achievements still not functioning is just a hilarious, ridiculous icing on the cake.
