Maybe one solution to the import issue would be to just add some functionality to the 'options' screen to allow us to reset some of those key flags. I know that the PC users have mods/tools that lets them do this. If Bioware can do something like that for console users, that would allow us to fix some of those flags without having to completely start over to keep the flags straight.

Wow hold your horses there, that would be paramount to letting us have mods,MS would have a tizzy-fit,lol!! we'd all get banned automatically.

I have to point out that I didn't get the slow mo bug and I was all over Isabella even Li completion near the end.In fact the only two bugs I seen were maker's sigh and merril act 2 quest registering as finished in Act 3 even though I didn't go near Varteral!! But you imagine it would have been spotted somewhere along the the line since so many have experienced it.

That sounds like the easiest way to correct the problem.
When you start a new game they should give you the option to import your character, then give you a much more detailed list of all the choices made in the import. If something is wrong then let us change what is listed to what we really did in DA:O, DA:A, Golems, and Witch Hunt.

It might be better to just fix the problem, but if they are unable to (because some of the import bugs are supposedly DA:A 's fault) then they should give us this option.

This idea is for the best. PC users have mods to do this. Console players should have to suffer through import-failings silently. Perhaps having this for DA3 at the beginning would be nice. Maybe pass this on to the ME3 guys too, just in case there's some really terrible import bugs there too.

Really? Count yourself lucky.

My two-hander got it mildly. It was noticable but it wasn't bad.

My current archer has it bad. Archers are already slow and the bug brings it down to such a point that I'm currently playing as Fenris instead. It's a stupid stupid evil bug. I can get rid of it by restarting the Act....don't want to. I'm just a mission and Gamlen's mission away from beating the game again.

And I've respec'd the Archer into a DW rogue because the attack speed is faster with daggers. But it's still painfully slow.

Can someone explain to me the basics of the save import bug?
I have a save with Origins -> Awakening -> Witch Hunt and romanced Morrigan.

Yes, this would be helpful.
I'm the same only I the Amgarak one in between Awakening and WH, and I romanced Alistair.
I have the fear, massively. xD

I'm also confused about what was written about Merrill's Mourning still auto-completing; apparently the quest isn't supposed to be in the game? Did I read this wrong? I hope not because I would like to talk to Merrill for new dialogue before seeing Anders so I can decide who I'd prefer to romance. Anders is pretty heavy. xD

If you liked her that much I'm guessing she rarely left your party? In which case the effects of the bug wouldn't have been noticeable as it's removing her, loading saves without her in your party etc that starts knocking your attack speed.

I hate to wait to play my games, especially when i already purchased the game. I'm still a bit confused about the patch release though. So there are no hard date release on them at the moment? And does it look like it will hit late this week or early next week?

So after reading this thread and the threads in the PC section, I find myself confused and even more worried than before...

Haha same....I'm glad that a lot of the gameplay issues will be fixed but I'm still not sure if I'll be able to get past all the import bugs, those are important to me.

Also, I ended my Origins game in a romance with both Morrigan & Leliana, and I'm assuming that will cause some kind of problem down the road? In the Origins/Awakening epilogues it mentions how my Warden travels with Leliana, and makes no mention of Morrigan. Guess I should go back to Origins and fix that.....sorry Leliana.....:(

You're only supposed to be able to romance one character in Origins, the others tend to get jealous if you are romancing more than one person in the game. Double romancing doesn't really work all that well.

Patch should appear in the Xbox Live menu, right? Or at least, when I start up my game there should be a message saying "An update is available for this game", right? Because here in Aus, I don't see either of these things. Is Australia forgotten?

There was a way to end the game in a romance with both of them, which I did. Wasn't really thinking about the future DA implications at the time though. :?

Patch isn't out on consoles yet, only PC. Ours should be next week some time.

We're trying to work with Microsoft to get it released this week but right now the 'safe' launch is early next week.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr . . . long as it fixes the Friendship Glitch I won't sic my FemShep on BioWare. Of course, Mass Effect 2 was almost perfect, and 110% bug-free! Except for the Rachni of course, but I did save their Queen so I guess I can't complain . . .

I remember taking a flight once that was running late. As we were landing, the passenger next to me complained "their first responsibility is to get us there on time!" I laughed, and replied I'd prefer to get there in one piece...

I understand why certification is necessary, and it'd be great to have it for the weekend. Most importantly though, I hope it fixes what it was meant to and does so without breaking anything else.

Thanks for the response, but how does this acutally work? The patch is release on the PC, and that's always the case in almost all games. I'm sure EA and Steam needs to go through the same certification as Sony and Microsoft, so why do they take longer time? There are far more systems on the PC than xbox 360 and PS3. But i digress. I'm putting my glove on the calendar for next week.

I would like to know this too. My first playthrough I imported from Witch Hunt, but I didn't know that bioware fixed Witch Hunt a while back so I used an import from before my Warden left with Morrigan. Needless to say my game makes no mention of the romance.

My second playthrough I imported the save after my Warden leaves with his baby mama Image IPB through the mirror. Is the game now gonna mention that? Does it at all? Can somebody please tell me, seeing the game mention this is important to my gameplay.

They take longer because they have to check every game as well as checking the game against their console to make sure there is no debug or other such shenanigans that causes issues with the console itself... and they're probably busier! ^_^

-----------------

UPDATE: Wednesday, April 13, 2011.

Good news - Microsoft has completed their certification process. Title Update 1.01 is scheduled to go live on X360 sometime tomorrow.

In the meantime, I thought I’d take the opportunity to provide a deeper dive on what a couple of the patch notes actually mean.

“- The effects of various follower talents and item properties are now being properly removed and re-applied when loading and saving.”

Yeah, this one covers a lot of ground and had a wide range of symptoms. Some were quite subtle, others… not so much. In general, this covers a wide range of cases where the player’s stats were getting incremented or decremented more than they should. In some cases, such as Hawke’s combat speed, this would continue compounding every time you loaded a certain type of save. This bug, and the corresponding fix, are expected to behave the same on consoles as they do on PC/Mac. It’s important to note that this first patch focuses on preventing the issue from recurring or getting worse. For the next patch, we’re looking deeper into how to fully reverse the issue and restore normalcy in save games where the error has already occurred.

“- Various technical changes should improve performance, limit crashes, and address memory-related issues.”

On the X360 in particular, some players were experiencing issues such as missing textures or “unable to load area” messages, especially if they’d been playing the game for a long time in one sitting. Similar issues were occurring on the other platforms but with less frequency. Memory and performance issues are complex beasts, of course, and we don’t want to say that we’ve eliminated these issues altogether but the patch does provide a lot of improvements and optimizations that will improve players' experience in that regard and make those issues significantly less prevalent than they are currently.

We look forward to getting Title Update 1.01 into your hands tomorrow.

It's good that it's coming out tomorrow as I still need to complete my second re-run on ME and then play through ME2. So, you guys all get to tell me how awesome/useless the XBox patch is. Feel speshul!

So it's not the same for the PC then? I mean, debug etc on different components and hardware on that system. Well, the 360 is only one system with almost no hardware difference on each version so i would think the certification process is more strict.
