In the meantime, a special shout out and thanks to our mighty beta test group who’ve been a big help in confirming how these fixes will behave in the wild.

Is that what Bioware calls it's customers nowadays? :P

Glad to hear it, but what about the infamous isabela/sebastian bug? I think that is the first bug to fix

I do not know of this bug. Do tell.

This was covered in the first point:

Rob Bartel wrote...

The effects of various follower
talents and item properties are now being properly removed and
re-applied when loading and saving.

The issue with Sebastian and Isabela is that their buffs from gaining above 50% friendship are bugged, so that they remain active even when they are not in the party.  What Rob said (quoted above) is clearly in reference to the friendship bug.

As long the 1.01 patch only fixes issues and does not introduce other issues.

Funny because I wouldn't like to be a beta tester even if the game (any) would be free to download for testing purposes. I always skip beta testing for fear of ruining my experience.

I managed to finish the game once, waiting for the patch to start my second playthrough...However, I hope they have learned from their mistake: Releasing a game not yet ready for release.

Next time then.

I've learned my mistake, no more pre-orders, no more waiting on line for the game the day it comes out... just wait until after they release the first patch...

I hope that you are right, but their recent track record with ME2 and DA2 does not instill much confidence. I do hope they examine the QA process to find out how these bug got into the GM, and make adjustments. Only time will tell.

Nah, still have to pre-order the game to get all the really powerful equipment that you can't get otherwise.  Just don't plan to play it for three months after release.  That worked for me with DA:O, while trying to play ME2 and DA2 day and date were nothing but trouble.

I hope this patch comes out soon. I was diligently doing the Isabella bug work-around, but at around the Arishok battle, the freakin' game froze! Now I'm hit with a permanent -10% speed hit (assuming the game doesn't freeze AGAIN), unless I reload an earlier save before Isabella force-left my party, which was about 2 hours ago. Unacceptable.

So yeah, I hope they did a good job on it so it can be certified and sent out already. This is pretty annoying.

Seems like the only way to avoid the Isabella/Sebastian glitch is to not befriend and romance them. Time to start being a **** lol

UPDATE: Monday, April 11, 2010.

Hi everyone. I hope you had a good weekend. We're working with Valve right now on dotting the i's and crossing the t's for the Steam rollout. Based on our current estimates, we expect the 1.02 Patch to go live on PC/Mac sometime tomorrow (Tuesday, April 12).

On consoles, the 1.01 title update is progressing smoothly through final certification at Microsoft and Sony. No issues have been found and they're currently projecting release dates of sometime next week - we're working with them to see if we can pull those dates in any further.

Last Friday we discussed some of the universal fixes that we’ve made across all the platforms. Today we’re providing a high-level view of some of the platform-specific fixes that you can expect.

CONSOLES:
- The options menu now includes auto-attack.
- Armor values now adjust correctly when changing shields.
- Choosing a target at close range is now easier.
- Cinematics are no longer distorted on certain standard-definition televisions.
- Hawke no longer gains excessive coin and experience from rapidly and repeatedly completing a single sidequest.
- Various technical changes should improve performance, limit crashes, and address memory-related issues.

PC & MAC:
- Various issues specific to DirectX 11 no longer occur.
- It is now easier to select party members by clicking on their portraits when the level-up arrow is displayed.
- The game now functions correctly across different desktop sizes.
- The video options menu now allows a wider full-screen gamma range.
- Various technical changes should improve performance and limit crashes.
- We’ve improved our crash reporting and our ability to analyze those reports. If you’re still experiencing crashes, we encourage you to play logged in so we can identify and resolve your issues in the future.

This patch should address the bulk of the major issues that people are experiencing. We’re already hard at work on addressing further issues with our next patch and we’ll be setting up some specific threads in the various tech support forums to help capture any major issues that you’re still facing after these patches go live.

Can't wait. Although I was expecting less bugs in the actual game, I'm glad for all these fixes. BUT NO MORE INFINITE GOLD AND XP :o :crying::crying::crying:

Awesome news. Tho next week for Consoles? :( I know I know it's out of your hands. I'm just harassing you. Knowing relief is coming is great news.... but I'm still gonna hope against hope that console users get a patch tomorrow.

Very cool. With how slow Sony can be I was expecting to have to wait 'til next month.

Well I guess I will just work on my Rouge Playthrough till the patch is rolled out. Has BioWare confirmed whether the patches will be retroactive and fix the bugged saves? I am thinking it will but I would like to hear from them.

And by the way my only complaint about the game is the bugs. Hopefully BioWare will sure this as a case to get EA to allow them time to do the job we all know they can.
