(If it's even true)

Maybe finally TIM figured out what the Reapers want with Shepard, and decided that it is imperative that they don't get it.

Kinda like all the "Modern Secret Templiers vs. would-be Antichrist" plots.

This is, of course, just me, under the impression of The Devil's Advocate I rewatched yesterday, and how Keanu Reaves fooled Al Pacino in the final scene there. The scene immediately reminded me of the possible Shepard is Saren-2 plot.

Indeed, maybe Shepard is "the chosen one" and his genetic code is the secret to completely dominating the human race :P

I support Saren 2.0 theory.  Nice one, Zulu.

No, much simpler than that;

Shepard blows up base=TIM angry

Shepard keeps base=TIM indoctrinated

I support Saren 2.0 theory as well but don't expect that to happen. There might be something simple.
Reaper did it.

Doesn't work like that.

Yeah it's more likely he has some motives that he considers "best solution for humanity". He does want to protect humanity afterall, from aliens and from the reapers. I can't wait for the final Evolution chapter to find out WHY ^^

Yes, maybe is a strong word here. It could be as Zulu says, it could be anything. TIM could have any kinds of reason to kill Shepard. I can't find any good, and I couldn't see why TIM would even consider doing it. It seems to far stretched for me, but when it comes to TIM, there must be a very good reason...

TIM is TIM

Or it could be that Cerberus has a really nice background of betraying people...

Did anyone see this coming?

Shepard has more than enough data on Cerberus to be massive threat.

Besides, TIM was obviously doing more than he let on, because if you kept the base, he already had ships with IFFs ready. Where did he get those and why didn't he tell you about them?

Shepard was a pawn.

Maybe TIM is playing Xanatos Roulette...

Far too eloquent and simplistic, Zulu.

The reality of what it will be is that TIM's Huskification has driven him insane akin to a WoW raid boss if you are a Paragon or that he gets some good ol' indoctrination if you let him keep the base.

No.

Who did Cerberus betray?

Even if TIM dislikes Shepard, aren't there any more pressing issues ATM, especially given some the sh*t Anderson has done to Cerberus?

Would be interesting if the trilogy went a full circle in some form.

Remeber that talk of mind control? TIM spent billions of credits to bring Shepard back, he want his money worth.

If Shepard's not going to work with TIM willingly then he'll be working for TIM unwillingly.

My theory from another thread:

Well, since LotSB is bridging DLC it makes sense that it was not created as a throwaway, but rather to further the plot of ME3. I suspect BW had a good reason for installing her in this position and will have a good reason for modifying it. My personal theory on this is akin to Akizora's only it won't be the reapers that threatens Liara's network... it will be Cerberus. Seems to me that the SB's network would be something TIM would covet and feel was vital to further human supremacy (can't leave it in the hands of an alien).

Further, this would explain Cerberus' reversal with regard to Shep... since most likely even renegade Shep is going to come to Liara's rescue. Since Cerberus knows where she is, Liara does indeed transfer her network to the Normandy giving Shep immediate access to a resource Shep wouldn't otherwise have. From a storytelling perspective this has the additional benefit of being able to ligitimately provide Shep information from across the galaxy that Cerberus, the Aliance, the Council, etc. etc. alone would not have access to and/or would not be willing to provide Shep for various political reasons. Shep would then be completely autonomous and free to act in the way she sees best.

<shrug> Just a thought.

TIM's either indoctrinated or wants his money back/put in use in his favor.

Or both.

Either way, he's the most stupid man on the face of the galaxy.

I haven't read the article but just that little thing that got written up originally on gfaqs, but all it says is Cerberus is out to kill Shepard and not specifically TIM.

But I'm of the opinion either he or the magazine is wrong. I'd rather team up with TIM and get revenge on Anderson.

That's affirmative.

But it still makes no sense for *my* Shepard, for instance, who is Human-supremacist and recognizes TIM's authority in all matters strategic. In other words, he is not standing in TIM's way.

This is a double plot hole: it makes no sense for TIM to kill him, but it would be very easy to do so by luring him into any kind of trap just by summonin him there.

In any case, either TIM doesn't want to survive the Reaper invasion (he is somehow indoctrinated), or thinks that Shepard may be detrimental to that goal (Shepard is indoctrinated).

I know, I know. I’m instantly leaping to the worst possible explanation but I suspect they just been hit with the stupid bat again. “Let’s go on a power trip and take over while the Reapers are attacking! Herp derp” or TIM is indoctrinated. I’m hoping there is actually a decent explanation but to be honest I’m not holding my breath for one.

Hey, it might not be TIM, it could just be that another one of his cells have gone rogue for at least the dozenth time.

Whatever the reason it must be big.

It's indeed fishy. Personally, I don't get this option. Is it just something like "Shep has to much information and he will know be Alliance, kill him". I mean, does he really think he can kill Shepard? He knew what Shepard could accomplish and Shepard got it done. If anyone could defeat the reapers, it's Shepard, and TIM should know this.

So yeah, there must be something big

Was going to make a similar thread to this, I'll post in a second.

TIM is angry but...
Understands that Shepard is one of the only people who can stop the Reapers.
Shepard is a resource they can call upon.
He considers working with them again.

Shepard keeps base=TIM indoctrinated

Yeah, no. The Base doesn't have indocrination devices in it and TIM has shown to be resistant to indocrination.

Isn't it his job to make sure crap like that won't happen, though?
