The writers like to assume that everyone loves Liara.  At this point, I'm just considering it a trait of Shepard that I can't control rather than b*tching about how that damn asari's the author's pet.

Yes, the biggest grievance I had with LotSB was that I was forced to get all sentimental with Liara in the little after mission dinner thing. My renShep was hoping for a little no strings attached score for thanks for all the trouble he went through for her.

that was the same way I felt after LOTSB and I was pissed but hey Bioware and its writters are pro Paragon and Liara fans and it sucks

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but if you look at one of the screenshots from the GI article you'll see a lone armored figure crouching in a room with broken glass falling from overhead. If you look carefully you will see that the object he is on is a bed, and the room he is in is Shepard's quarters aboard the Normandy. Looks like Cerberus is gonna be knocking on your door. I would guess it's just pregame hype saying that Cerberus is going to be completely antagonistic towards Shepard throughout ME3. Cerberus and Shepard have too much of a relationship to make Cerberus simple "bad guys" in ME3. I strongly believe Shepard will still have the chance to work with Cerberus in some capacity in the future.

Yeah, I'm sure that's it, and not, you know, them not wanting to explain the story in detail months before the game is released.  As far as the forums and the unleashing of hell: that happens on pretty much an hourly basis anyway, often for no discernible reason, so I doubt that's a big worry.

If that is true why put it in the article if you do not want to discuss it any further that makes no sense at all. Bioware has released the info so they better come with a explaination of it before the game is released. its not like this is a rumor or some leaked info. It's a plot twist that they think is cool so they want to keep it secret.  Also, telling everyone all the plot points before ME3 is even released takes the fun of discovery out of the game.  Going in knowing why Cerberus is after you would be akin to knowing who killed Mr. Boddy before your game of Clue even starts.

The plot twist could be interesting if done right. Or it can be incredibly stupid.

Or the rumor is wrong or not quite right, just like the initial reveal of Legion.

They put it in for the same reason they told us Shepard was dead before ME2 came out: to get people talking and speculating about this "game" thing they want to sell down the road.  I swear, it's like you've never seen a trailer or a teaser for next week's episode of series X.  But feel free to keep stamping your foot and saying "NO FAIR!" Just realize you're not getting results.
