There are two problems right now, maybe they are related:

When I try to resume a DA:O game while online, I get the "This saved game includes BioWare premium content. To load this saved game, an owner of the following premim content must log in: etc" I purchased my DLC over a year ago and never had problems playing. Sometimes I had to wait a few seconds before loading again and then the alert would disappear. But this time it is persistent. I have to disconnect from the internet and then I can start the game. then I can reconnect while the game is running.

Second, I noticed that my online profile hasn't updated since February 8, despite having done "proper saves" and armor changes several times.

I am having the exact same problem, plus I am logged in and it still states I need to login.  Also, I tried to load a game and I get the same error.

PS: On the bioware site, my content is authorized. In-game, under "downloadable content", it shows as "unauthorized".

The only way to start a game right now, os to disconnect from the internet. I hope this sin't a permanent problem...

Yes mine is also showing up as unauthrorized, even though it worked yesterday fine.

I'd say this is a problem on the bioware.com site. Things will hopefully be back to normal in the near future... :pinched:

Similar problem here. I play the game trough Steam but I guess that this problem is not steam related.

Wonder if this is a cross platform or cross game issue(is it happening to people playing on PS3 or XBox AND is it happening to DA2 and ME2 DLC?)

Good to hear. My problem is that i lost my previous save games, and do not wish to play DA 2 until i get a finished DA:O saved so i can port over. Just fussy that way. This problem is making it harder.

I found a solution in another bioware forum: Forum Home » BioWare General » Social.bioware.com Site Help. "Click on "Start" and select "run". Then type "services.msc" (without the quotes). That'll open the services management console. Search for the Dragon Age updater (or something similar) and manually start it." - from jwalker. This worked for me.

I saw that solution too. Did it, and nothing happened.

Same issue - I cannot resume or load a saved game. Just recently started a new character, is now lv 6-8 Dalish elf rogue, but the game won't let me play and my profile has errors, it won't show my character's avatar or progress.  I'm told I need to log in but I am logged in (and should have access to all kinds of premium content, bought and paid for).

Thanks Rand-AL-Thor77
With Windows 7 it was ctrl-alt-delete, select "Start Task Manager", click on "Services" tab, right click on "DAUpdater", and select "Start Service"

Same thing for me and I am very angry about it!
The service is running for me.

I think the problem is related to the maintenance they did.

My profile was offline when I played and saved the game, so after they finished the maintenance and I logged in again my save is now fckd up.

All my registered games have vanished from my profile, and I'm mayorly pissed! If this does not get fixed soon I will not buy a Bioware game again.

It's some trouble on the bioware site. They "are working on it and it should be resolved within 24 hours" (that's what they said yesterday nicht, so it should be about 12 hours now...

I recommended this before, and it works for some people (like me) and for others it doesn't:

Quit the game.
Disconnect your machine from the internet.
Start the game.
(You can't log in now of course...)
Check "Downloadable Content" tab. The DLC should now be enabled and the "authorization required" tag should be gone.
Resume saved game.

It works for me (Mac, Digital Deluxe Edition), complete with DLC working, but your mileage may vary...

Another workaround that worked for some people is described here:

http://help.dragonag...WQvNWpQdkgtcWs=

It involved editing Addins.xml, so MAKE A BACKUP COPY and don't come whining if your game explodes afterwards.

Raqubor, give them some time and hope they've made backups of their files...

So, anything new?

Thought I'd bump this one, since it contains some information about how to do a workaround for the time being... and maybe this will keep people from necroing year-old threads...

Sure hope their server gets reloaded Monday morning, or maybe it already got reloaded with out any of our extras.....that's how it's looking from my end. I'm logged to the server, it's not recognizing any of my buy in expansions......How about you? DAO extras?

I logged in this morning as well...no luck....still no authorization for all my downloads. It's ridiculous. We paid for the content, we should be able to access it. Dragon Age II is still working at least. Makes you
really think about buying stuff in the future.
