Ok so I just Beat DA2 and I was Beginning to suspect that i had missed allot by not downloading the add-ons from Origins. The file I imported from DOA had the extras that came with buying it plus the wardens keep. How much story did i miss by not doing the DAA exspansion and the Witch Hunt ( or others i dont know about)? And did they play a role in DA2?

Mainly why wast that red heaired (liara?) with my warden (she was my romance) and still dont know if he found morigan or not or what the heck she was doing with my love child.

Trying to figure out if i need to but the extras and play through both games agin....

The only expansion that did very much was Awakenings. Witch Hunt was interesting for Morrigan info, but it didn't give any real answers. Neither did Leliana's Song. Interesting, but no answers. You're probably fine.

Unless you really like the game, then hey, why not play them? :)

Leliana has red hair. Liara is blue and in Mass Effect.

They are stories. A continuation for the Hero basically. In DA2 you'll get references to what happened in Awakening. Currently Witch Hunt's flags aren't used by DA2.

You missed out on very little, OP. If you played through Awakening and Nathaniel lives, you get one quest you wouldn't normally get. But you get another quest instead ('fools gold') so it all evens out.

About the only time I saw something from Witch Hunt mentioned was Bodhain explaining why Sandal was present during it.

I'd say only Awakening is important at this point.

As for, "Why doesn't Leliana know where the Warden is?" No one knows.

Leliana! thank you i got the two names confused (love mass effect too!). And thank you jaybee93 for the info. Anyother insights are welcome. I just read that there are books out there i was woundering if anyone thought they were worth it? Video game books have never impressed me.

.....If you couldent tell im geeking out on DA story alittle. And please Bioware fix the bugs i my romance with mirrill was acted out but the ending said Isabela! I hope this is fixed so my info imported to DA3 gets my virtual love life corect lol

Awakening is interesting. You would learn about how some of the Darkspawn are existing at the moment. Plus you can meet a more like able Anders who sounds just like Cullen. The last boss also may make you think "OMG BRAS, ANYONE? PLEASE? NOW!" Lastly and most important. You will meet Sigrun. I miss her.

Varric will say the name of the first one you sleep with. It just means you snacked Isabela and then went after the sweet cake.

I've read one of the books ('The Stolen Throne') and I'm currently reading the other ('The Calling.') They're actually a bit more informative than the DLC: that is, in Stolen Throne you get the whole backstory to King Maric and Loghain, and in The Calling there's a tonne about Duncan that's really interesting. He's very different as a kid and it makes me want to play the start of Origins again.

If you're geeking out on Dragon Age the books are worth it, just for that!

I nearly got over Sigrun. Now I'll have to mourn her absence again. Image IPB

I really got the feeling that when they wanted to design her they just watched some of those really really WRONG anime that a coworker had me watch before. There are things I cannot unsee. She is one of them.

Ah right... 'The Calling' is also pretty much a prequel to Awakenings, it has some of the same characters, so you might want to read that before you play the add-on.

So far (in the book) no many-boobed baddies, though...

The "Warden's Keep" DLC gives you a sidequest in Act 1.
