I've seen forum posters post their tests in Origins and Awakening that determined there is a 30% cap for Origins and 50% cap for Awakening on elemental damage modifiers (ie your gloves give you +6% fire damage stacking with a staff that gives you +16% fire damage stacking with your 2 mage talents that gives you +50% fire damage.)
Anyone know the cap for DA2? Same as Awakening at 50%? Or did they change it? Your mage talents alone can give you +50% fire damage (Elemental Mastery and Pyromancer talents)... and if the cap is the same, at 50%, that would make use for gear with +% fire damage obsolete.

Indeed, there is a very slight change to this aspect of game mechanics
The hard cap for all Damage_X_Bonus properties is 1000% now.
