Seriously, why be so nit-picky? The Anders story rocks. DAO rocks, DAA, rocks, and DA2 rocks. Sure, there will always be some things that wont please some people, but that's the nature of art. (Sending lotsa love to the BioWare crew! xoxo)

According to Gaider I think, the epilogues in DAO and DAA are supposed to be considered "general rumor". Some things dont necessarily end up like "people" thought they did, or those things simply havnt happened yet. I think one of the writers said that if Anders "died" in your DAA it was a case of body mis-identification.
oh plz... how convenient... a body mis-identification wtf this would be an excuse? an awful excuse for their mistakes
Like I say I DONT BUY IT!!!<_<

Well, I mean, if that's what the authors say than that is what it is. You can either be stubborn about it and keep yourself from enjoying the game or accept it and move on.

A fantasy game romance option - he's perfect. I keep meaning to do a templar run and romance Fenris, but I just keep on playing my Anders loving, mage revolutionary Rhiannon Hawke. I infinitely prefer DA2 Anders to Awakening, and he was my favourite Awakening character.

So, Jennifer Helper is the person responsible for ruining one of the better characters from Awakening?

He said that he wanted to kill Elthina to make sure there could be no compromise. perhaps he also wanted a grand symbol, but I don't remember him mentioning it.
Of course, the explosion was mighty impressive, give him that. I thought before it happened that he'd figured out gunpowder somehow, but it was definitely a magical explosion.
I have some sympathy for Anders. A ton of innocent people died so slaves could be free, and so on. Innocent mages are dying and being turned tranquil and raped and abused all the time, and no one is doing anything about their suffering. Elthina could do something (she could replace the Knight Commander) but she doesn't.
If I do another full playthrough, I'll probably let him live. Screams of terrorist are too simplistic, why are the clerics lives so much more important than the lives of the mages? At the least, he's no worse than the Knight Commander.
I'm probably simple that way, believing that all the Maker's children are equal, and all.
This is very fair. I never thought of Anders as any form of terrorist but I agree he was no better than the Knight-Commander. She was a narrow-minded bigot, but so was Anders. They both had that one goal they'd stop at nothing to acheive, regardless of the cost.
Not even close. Meredith has been influnced by the sword, while Anders freely admits it was all him, and not justice.
He is a terrorist, murder, hypocrite and a scumbag (killing thousands of innocent poeple to free the mages is OK, but killing a few mages to save normal folk isn't??? .
I'll shank him every time, from now till eternity...or I would if I played the game more than once.

Doesn't it become evident it was not only him if you pursue rivalry? I can't remember if it had to be romance or not.
Yes.
Justice actually takes control of Anders at certain points in Act 3 and, according to Jennifer Hepler, it is Justice who plants the bomb in a rivaled playthrough.
And Meredith was a fanatic before she got her sword. The idol doesn't make good people evil, it exagrerates prominent qualities in people. Bartrand's was greed, Meredith was fanaticism. When Varric was under the influence, he was even more focused on helping his brother because that's what he does.

You cna ask him before you kill him. He tells you to was all him and not Justice.
And no, we have no idea how the idol really works exact that it drives people crazy. Betrand was more than just super-greedy.
