Sorry this out of the blue but was bored at work today and was thinking how would ME3 start after taking in the details of Arrival.
I think that the game will start with a mission of some kind relating o reaper tech etc and when you complete this mission you will be surrounded by Earth Alliance ships, the time to face the music has come!
Fast forward to Earth and Shepherd is on trial for detroying the Batarian system, so as to avoid war with the Batarians.
Cut to war crimes case on Earth, this is the clever bit, if you have an imported save your choices are fixed, but if a newcomer your choices could be decided during the court case ie "did you kill Urdnot Wrex?" If you played ME1 and killed Wrex this would be framed as a statement whereas without a save game this would b framed as a question and your answer is taken as what happened thus creating the story like the ps3 interactive comic. Anyway after the court proceedings you are still found guilty the only thing that has changed is peoples perception of Shepherd regarding paragon - renegade choices. For example, did you punch a female news reporter? Did you let a Volus off its head thinking it was the universes hardest biotic get killed because you thought it was funny, did you let the Rachni live etc. These choices inform the later game as you may have turned various faction against you without even realising it. Thus this gives you the mission structure as some allies will be harder to recruit than others or obviously not present at all.
After the court case concludes and Shepherd is taken into Batarian custody likely to fall foul of some kind of accident. Enter Liara and the Virmire survivor who then plot ot break you out and start ME3 proper. However Liara has to recruit a squad and begins by looking for the survivors of Shepherds prevous squad. Again this is clever as if cetain squad mebers died during the suicide mission obviously they can' be recruited and if you new to ME3 then your answers in the court case can decide this (I think some wil be default survivors in this case as it was very hard to kill them all). After the successful escape ME3 kicks off properly with your squad of survivors I think as well this explains the reason why Shepherd is in space during the trailer and not on Earth during the Reaper invasion.
Anyway thats my idea and I thnk it would be pretty cool, but its late and my brain hurts. Thoughts anyone?
Why oh why did I post this to a dead forum the other week, imagine the kudos, also I think my coutroom thing is better than an interactive comic, oh well damn my drunkeness.
