Better to practice with heavier wooden weapons before you go on to the real deal to be honest... Makes the real thing alot easier to handle.

So who else thinks that it'll be up after the server schedualed "downtime" on tuesday night/wednesday morning?

http://social.biowar...4/index/6997526

Oh god I forgot about that. Now I'm on a new level of pissed!

Obviously, the servers which run the board are different than those that run the DLC... so one should not impact the other.  And if they're actually planning to improve the efficiency of the forums... I am all for that.

As to the DLC issue, I am resigned now to getting up tomorrow morning, seeing if it's fixed, and if not, changing the title of this thread to "Blackout MONDAY".

After that, I am going to get lazy (and pessimistic) and simply call it "Blackout April".

I will shed a single tear tomorrow if that is the case.  I... haven't talked to Shale since Tuesday of last week.

Hi everyone --

Yeah, this is really unfortunate. I used to be a huge Bioware fan (I bought DA:O and Awakenings as standalones *and* Ultimate, for example). It really stinks that I thought I was paying for a single-player game, but a server outage is nuking my DLC. Stuff happens and that's understandable, but taking this long to get things fixed is pretty bad. My interest in playing (and, hence, paying for) either "The Old Republic" or "Mass Effect 3" has definitely been dinged by this experience. Come on, Bioware. You're better than this.

Admit it! This is like telling to yourself that you won't EVER call that girl that you loved which just dumped you! (You will totally call her once she gives you the chance!)

Totally bullseye, that's how things work. Very typical situation.

I was trying to avoid getting off subject with swords... It happens to me wwwwaaaayyyy too often in real life. :P

Anyhow, I guess all we can do is wait and see....

oh and fuzzybee... http://www.kultofathena.com/ if you're looking for weapons... It was recommended to me by a friend. There, hopefully I've killed the sword talk conversation before it gets out of hand :)

On topic: Boy this unauthorized bug really does suck!
 There, that should be good.

Off topic:My husband works across from this store:
http://www.reliks.com/
He also works across from a sex shop, but I don't think I should put that link up here.

I must admit that I, as many others before me, have reached an entirely new level of pissed off. I was looking forward to a nice long DAO marathon this weekend, had tons of beverages and snacks ready. But now i can't connect to the servers and verify that my addons are indeed authorised.

A NICE HUGE BLUE POST ON THE TOPIC WOULD BE HIGHLY APPRECIATED (along with an apology).

p.s. if there has been a blue post, please do feel free to correct me.

You should know by now the idjits won't post or apologize for jack or squat. they're probably sitting on their thumbs laughing at our gripes.

EA support said it will be fixed today! I asked twice and the answer persisted. Let's see.
If they don't keep their promise, I will ask directly for a $20 coupon.

Just another reminder that Bioware has nothing to do with the current problem. They are no longer involved with support of Dragon Age: Origins or any of it's DLC/Expanded content. Both the servers and support staff are provided by EA.

What snacks did you get?  I like to get Cherry Fresca when I'm spending a day gaming, but I haven't been able to find it for a while now.  And cheese chips, but they have to be either wavy or ridged.

I like Bioware because they have never enforced really though DRM. The same goes with this one. It's annoying, since we all expect this to work out of the box (or download) and to keep working. In the Ultimate edition case the manual fixes are relatively easy (manual donwload or if you already have the DLC, manually editing the autorization file will do it). So that's why I like Bioware.
However, EA and Bioware, and everybody else, every single online-DRM have failed the customer at one point or another, at least the customer who wants to use the full set a of features, leaving non-paying and therfore non-customer players laughing at us.
The reason why I am less a Bioware fan that I used to be, is because they have been console-friendlying their games. ME2 and DA2, while still bringing interesting additions to the game play on one hand, are not as solid as their first installments on the other hand. By example, while they increased the graphics, they also increased the linearity and repetition in the game, to a point where it becomes boring to complete it.

Oh, so I'll take my hot poker to EA then.  Phew.  You really saved me there Aeline.  Imagine my embarassment when I showed up at BioWare to shove it up their arses.

It may not happen, and then, it'll be like being dumped by a loved one... they're just toying with our hearts. Once they fix it, we'll be hooked, like victims of domestic violence once the husband promises he'll never touch another bottle of beer, and buys us cheap flowers and gas station chocolate.

Stockholms' syndrome...

Haha.  I've actually been fairly successful with not caving on stuff like this (it's part of the reason I don't buy stuff made by Atari or Ubisoft anymore).  It also helps that both of those companies mostly make crap.  Yeah, I'm sure when "TOR" and "ME3" come out I'll be sheepishly handing over my cash but, still, this *does* sting.  I hold Bioware in a very high regard overall.  Oh well.  There are other games to play and (gasp!) I went outside today (outside!).

I hope that means it'll be fixed by the time I get back from work. Living in Japan makes "convenient downtime" like server updates that happen at 12AM EST mean that my games are down at 1PM JST on a weekend. My own fault, though. PSN is the biggest offender of this. They do weekly updates that just happen to be in my prime gaming time. Here's to hoping for the best!

At least BioWare isn't making you pay weekly? Guild Wars 2 looks like it's shaping up to be a good competitor, and there's no monthly fee.

Ohh I'm a WoW veteran myself! Wyrmrest Accord (Bunch'a characters). Anyways, I registered Warhammer (which I played 2 years ago but didn't like a tall) and it turns out I have 10 free days, so I'll give it a chance while I wait...

(Back on the topic - Sorry)

So yes! Let's just hope they in fact fix it today/night... in fact ,NOW... right NOW!
