You can, however load the game if you play offline. Just untick the box that auto-logs you in, exit, and restart. It worked for me, and all my stuff is still in tact.

Yes, but the Premium Content entry under Current Quests in your Journal will be missing. This makes me nervous about continuing with this content disabled. I don't want to mess up all my future game saves over this issue. I'll wait for EA to fix their servers.

Hirakata & Animositisomina: that didn't work for me. What was unauthorized still is unauthorized, no matter if I log out, untick autologging, quit the game, restart the game, or any combination of these actions.
So I can only wait (while asking myself why I didn't get a pirated copy in the first place).

Just type this to insert an image: [ img ] (link to image) [ / img ]

You'll need to remove the spaces, of course.

Just chatted with Customer Support,
Quoting his respond when I asked if they know any ETA:
"There is no such official information about that but our Engineers are working hard on it."

Must be very hard working drinking their coffee and playing a tournament in chess for who should solve the problem.

Maybe if someone started posting hardcore porn on the forums the mods would actually make an appearance here.

Actually, who am I kidding they'd show up with the ban hammer then vanish again!

Remember to change the title to "Blackout April" if they can't fix before May...

LOL (laughing in despair)
I truely hope this will not be the case... But I am rather pessimistic about it right now.

My support ticket was changed to "unresolved".

Asked if they even looked in to it, or even read the forum lately..
Well, as of now, I'm (little late) boycotting everything with EA on it.. Well except this forum

No need to use italics and the bold feature there sweetheart. The problems are on a case by case basis. What I posted is how I got all my content back, including the Premium Content under Current Quests in my Journal. I wanted to present my fix and situation in case others were in the same boat. I'm sorry that yours (and even mine, since I can't be logged in) is still bugged out.

So you'll boycott most of the good games that are out? XD

Unfortunately those unhelpful souls at EA support can't really do anything for you even if you keep asking them nobody can wave a magic wand. It's in the hands of engineers to fix the issues. Servers need to be maintained now and again though i guess when it comes to gaming you see the more annoying side of the DRM system. But it's no worse than when your facebook or whatever is down of maintainence just go do whatever else and come back to it later and the issues should be resolved.

All this mess makes me even more certain about Bioware+EA wasn't a right decision. At least for us Bioware gamers. *Bah!* Of course this won't change anything..

So, today I got an update to one of my tickets about this problem. The EA rep just gave me some links basically trying the method of editing the Addins.xml file and reinstalling my game. It makes me wonder why he would do that if this is a system wide problem.

grynnAn, go to bed!

Ok, the cookie here [Right after waking up - GOD what a geek]

So... this is my theory: a server broke one hour after the IT guy left for happy hour on Friday. And it will probably be fixed 1 or 2 hours after some IT personnel gets back to work on Monday. Customer Service which are minimum wage employees who work 24/7 had to deal with the wrath of customers until the week started with, "Don't worry sir/m'am, it should be fixed in the (time needed for the weekend to end, 72, 48 and on Sunday 24 hours). Or offering sloppy solutions (Like the Addin file) which we know doesn't really solve the problem - but they just don't have the means to fix the servers handling the DRM - Those are the IT guys (or "engineers" as the reps refer to them in the CHAT support), who won't be back until today.

So don't worry guys, it'll be fixed when IT gets to work today, Monday, I'm sure of it.

Solution afterwards? As many have said before here in the thread: Once it authorizes do NOT log back in unless absolutely necessary. It just needs a one Authorization and then you can just play offline.

The cookie - Out!

Just chatted with EA support. At first they don't say there's a problem and ignore questions about servers. Than they try to make you change addins.xml (requireauthorization=1). After I told them, this don't solve the problem, but only disables DLC check for old save, they finally told, there's a problem:

I sincerely regret any difficulties you are experiencing. We are aware of the issue and our engineers are working towards a solution to fix this. Unfortunately, we do not have an ETA for when they will deploy a fix.

They even don't know when it'll be fixed!!!

**** you EA.

Reading all that stenographies of techsupport live chat I should assume that different people at that end just have different information. One says ETA 24 hours, second - 48 hrs, third -today, next - unknown...
Don't panic maybe?

Did you really just criticize someone for using bold and italics... and then use both yourself in your reply?

Well, this has nothing to do with panic. I'm very disappointed that at first support tried to deceive me (I doubt that's their fault, most likely EA guidelines). I also think that all this ETAs are complete scam and they give us standart timeframes written in the same EA guidelines.

I'd be perfectly OK if the guy just admitted that they have a problem in the first response and said that they do everything they can to solve it, but still don't know how much time it will take to solve it. That's a responsible answer from responsible company that cares about their userbase.

Well that finally explains why my game can't see any available DLC even when logged in. Thanks for 4 hours of chasing down problems EA!

If I have to resort to piracy to play a a game / content I legally paid for, what are the odds I am going to be paying for you're next game? Very very low...

All I can say is that I hope the server is up and running again today or at least by tomorrow. Typical that it happens when I decided to buy ultimate version and then got it in post on Friday.... was wondering if it was an actual server down or if my laptop had just decided to be mean.

They should really patch away the authentication, this DRM was "bad" even at the release but some kind of protection is necessary (they could have done it better though) for new games, but now 1½ year after release the people that want to buy it will buy it and the ones who wants to pirate it will pirate it.
So really no need for this crap any longer.

Hehe, you really should review this thread. As I said before, that is like saying that you will never, ever, speak to the girl you loved and just dumped you, and yet once she gives you the chance you'll jump at it.

Again, the proper solution for this mess is to authenticate your DLC once the servers come back (which I am sure it'll be today, IT is back to work), and then just never log back from the game, unless absolutely necessary.

Yes, yes I did. We should get Anders in here, since he's fluent in sarcasm, to translate. I did it to show how silly it looked. Sorry to confuse.

Off to bed with me. Hopefully this'll be resolved tomorrow by the time I get back from work. Good luck holding down the fort!
