There's an office down the street? I say you go in there with your hot poker and do some damage!vicious796 wrote...
Considering it's Monday and only 11:20 EST, anyone to work on it probably works on the west coast and is just now getting into their cars (with a normal 9-5 schedule). There is an EA office down the street from where I work though...

Start the game and log in
Exit the game
Start the game and now quickly cancel the login to the Servers.
Now all DLc and items from them is available, and could play normally.
I guess I will ignore my fantastic online Profile option from now on and stay offline
Enjoy,
Tom.

As it was noted in this thread for a few times already, this only works with a proper Profile.dap file (that is, you must have authorized the DLCs earlier).
You do not need to cancel log in, you can disable it and after restarting the game once you will be able to play with all the DLCs while offline forever.
But you see, EA has suggested that people reinstall the game and/or delete certain files, so many people either don't have or have lost their Profile.dap

There is a form you can submit to the firm about the issue to request they consider a class action. Here is the link to the firm.

It may also show on Kotaku soon, however I really hope the matter is fixed before it does. My only issue is the lack of official word on the matter. So many consumers wasting their time troubleshooting, and what not. I admit I still love Bioware for their creative masterpieces, but I have a right to be upset, angry annoyed and hence vocal when a company misbehaves.

I have contacted the law firm that is handling the class action against EA that involves Madden Football. I think it is obvious, given the length of down time and the lies from customer support, that they do not intend to support this game.

I do not think that is the case at all, and wasting time even pondering on filing this is unnecesary, and probably more harmful than useful. This is simply a case of some disregard towards the player base. The issue with the DLC will be fixed soon. My 'beef', is the fact that there was NO official word on the matter, and very sloppy scattered information on an individual level by Customer Service.
And of course, I also hope that this doesn't repeat in the future. We own a product that depends entirely on whatever goes on a remote server. And this is NOT an MMO.

Would love to know what the courts would say about it in terms of a contract between buyer and seller.

I would not hold my breath for a response.
The EA Lawsuit is an Anti-Trust lawsuit and it also includes the NFL, the NCAA, and The Arena Football League (guess they've finally found some legitimacy in that League)
It is centered around un-fair business practices leading to higher prices for the consumer.
A server being down is a very different issue.

This suit doesn't have ANY connection with our case. What's the profit for you in it, I should ask?Cfairy wrote...

With respect, I created this topic to discuss the server issue itself and allow people to help each other troubleshoot issues. If you want to contemplate (silly, in my opinion) legal action, please go ahead and create a new thread.
