this is ridiculious i did every single thing reinstalled everything every step every single thing!!! my dlc page still blank then after all the hassle i get a mail saying if was an error on their part i think we honest costumers that pay for a legit product shouldnt go tru such bad experiences if we considers a cracked version of the game runs perfect i do NOT endulge piracy but it is sad that a copy works better than the product i payed 50 bucks or more for....and i get no support either dont you guys love EA? ....i think that sarcasm just reached another galaxy

Who could have ever guessed there could ever be a problem with having to log in to play a single-player game?

Logging into a solo RPG has to be one of the stupidest things I've ever encountered in my gaming experience...... and I played King Quest 1 back when you had to type.

Guess what BioWare......... people that play single-player games do so sometimes because their internets down or they don't have access online. You've just written your games outta that market.

I personally won't buy another BioWare game if this is how you intend to limit your games. :(

Same here. I just re-installed the game and noticed I couldn't even see the other DLC for sale much less authorize my owned DLC.

Not bioware fault
Assassin's Creed 2 had a similar online check even for single player (for the game, not the dlc, mind you! madness!)
how much of a fail that was! and of course, pirates managed to find a crack almost instantly

Just want to say thank you so much for posting all of this in a clear and coherent way. I only bought the game a few days ago, so I was totally lost and confused when this started happening. This has been really helpful!
I hope they fix it soon!

Of course it's not 100% Bioware's fault. That would mean that EA has nothing to say in what they do. A business balances costs and EA has their way of doing it and I never had this problem with Bioware before they were taken over by EA. So something changed since EA was involved. And when anything goes wrong with any EA game, people have to face their support...so good luck to us all.

No game runs perfectly but the problems that this game has on the PC are simply disgraceful, especially because it takes them so long to fix it.

If you say that it's 100% Bioware's fault then you are equally fanatic as the person you are accusing of being fanatic. You just took the stand on the other extreme.

Ah, yes. Rule number one, if it exists, the internet hates it. Still a fanatic, just a bitter, spiteful one.

Rather hilarious, all the people vowing never to run a Bioware product again or say the word "Bioware" without saying "sucks" afterwards. I understand it's frustrating that technology is fallible, but the level of anger that some of you are representing is a bit troublesome. We don't know the level of damage that their servers are experiencing. Now, I doubt that they've abandoned their homes and moved into a bunker so that they can better focus on resolving this, but they'll get to it when they get to it. Being a **** and pouting in a "I hate you, I'm never talking to you again" manner like Bioware is your alcoholic mother who won't buy you the sports jacket you want isn't very encouraging, either.

No amount of crying, threatening, swearing or homocidal sprees are going to hurry this up. Find something else to do until they've fixed it. Read a book. Go practice your golf swing. I promise the big yellow thing in the sky won't eat you.

Sorry, wrong.  Yes, there have been some childish comments made in the last few days.  On the other hand, I've found people's reaction to this whole server issue to be refreshingly upbeat, especially compared with the teeth gnashing over Dragon Age 2.

The greater issue here is not that their servers are down... it's that the implimentation of the DLC is flawed.  Check up the thread on solutions linked to my signature below... you'll see that DLC problems have existed for a long, long time.  This incident has merely brought them to light.

The DLC server or the other servers?

After a fresh install of the game Monday, I could log in and got my profile downloaded.  I can now see my achievement unlocks from previous play throughs, but never had access to the DLC server.

Considering how long it took for them to acknowledge the problem, I'm thinking by May we might actually get an ETA and, with any luck, we'll be able to play again by Christmas.

Then again, I'm a bit of an optimist.

You are obviously only reading those specific comments so that you could write that post because you thought it sounded witty. Rather than read all of the other positive and patient comments that would make your post look pointless with no basis. oh, right.

It's been well over 4 friggin days. They didn't even admit the problem for like 2 and half of those days. They told us on chat support to spend an hour or two doing all these various fixes and then, after we wasted all that time, admitted it was down. Yeah, we don't know the level of damage, but considering that nobody even admitted the issue for so long, and even now they just say they have "theories" of what the problem might be, somehow I don't think it's something as obvious as "Meteor punched hole through server". We are mad that the DRM has been a constant problem, that the game has never worked the way it was intended, and then finally it just flat-out broke, and Bioware has still barely admitted that anything is wrong. I don't think it's silly to say, after this, that I won't buy another EA game; in fact, it's the most natural thing in the world to get angry when a company wastes your time and money and lies to you and never give them money again.

Another data point...

My DLC auth is also trashed. The DLCs show as not available on this site. In addition, I notice that EA has apparently lost their record of my purchase of DA:O Ultimate Edition, digital download. My order history is blank. I wonder if there is a connection.

another unhappy customer
