FuzzyBee, you're awesome. By the way, make an Origami of Sereda, my dwarven rogue or my human mage !

You got it!  It will be so authentic that your mage will be able to cast fireball.  But only fireball.  Because if calling on the mages in Denerim has taught me anything it's that mages LOVE fireball.

(It this posts multiple times, I'm sorry.  I am not at home and am using a friend's laptop and it's doing things I don't quite understand.  Or maybe there are just multiple FuzzyBees and we're  all thinking the same thing.)

Fireballs are SUPER important in video games. Who doesn't love fireballs? Think about it, think back really hard to 1986: Mario + Mushroom + Funny Flower...

FIREBALL!

Let us not stray from our serious battle against the injustice to our geekness! I can't wait to refresh and see a post that reads: "Issue finally solved. FTW".

(Or something similar).

I'm kind of surprised that no game news sites have been reporting on this, at least not the ones that I visit.

Seems like a pretty MAJOR problem and i'm sure there's a lot of people who don't visit these forums who have no idea what's going on.

Even if their staffers are avid DAO fans, they probably don't visit these forums too often.  People need to post about this issue on the game news sites themselves and contact them directly, when possible.  Wouldn't it be nice if EA/Bioware got calls from places like Joystiq, IGN, and others come Monday morning?

perhaps we should start applying pressure on both companies by alerting any game magazines/blogs/websites that would be interested in what is going on.  Could make a good anti-drm example or even article

I'm with you there, I just have no idea of who to contact or alert.

Kotaku or Slashdot. You can even post the news yourself in Slashdot.

I do thank the OP, "Merlin", for his diligence on this issue with the other community members. I have my DLC unlocked and all is fine and dandy, except one core, important thing... The UE is loaded with "Premium Content" that just will not work without being connected to the servers, making my "Big" game unplayable...naked characters (because their gear was all from "Premium Content" like Cailin's gear), inaccessible areas, and all but one of the campaigns is inaccessible ("You must be logged in to access premium content" errors. Yes, I can LAUNCH the campaigns...I just can't log in to them. ~sighs~

At least I can play the Awakenings campaign... It's the only one that let me play out of all the ones on my list.

True.  And he was just a regular plumber.

I really wish BioWare would at least make a statmement along the lines of "We are aware of the problem and currently have 12 monkeys working on the it>" (Or something like that) I am perturbed that I had to search through these forums to try to find solutions, worked for a couple of hours implementing those solutions only to come back to find out from other people that it's an EA or BioWare problem.  It shouldn't be up to the community to keep other informed, it should be up to the company.

I was thinking of playing vanilla Origins and rolling a mage and do a playthrough unclothed from start to finish.  Maybe I will.  After I finish RedundantCookie's origami fireball loving mage, of course.

I fear this is not classified (obviously it is not fair) as a big problem at EA/Bioware as most of the people that didnt mess up with it trying to fix things (like myself) can play off line.

Just unplug ur internet cable and start the game too bad for who like me re-installed the game (as adviced by a tech guy in a online session) and the new installation didnt get his on-line first authorization yet so it's like i bought the game this weekend

I would say this problem effect no more then a 2% of the player base if treated right (playing logged off) so they think it's no a mayor problem and they dont need to rush it.

that's the only reason i can think for this long delay in fixing this thing

At the very least, they should give RaenImrahl some cookies.  If they don't, I'm sure you have some redundant ones to spare.  I was so frustrated with the game and getting nowhere until he posted his updates.  A toast to you sir!

Sadly, you're probably right.  What they don't realize is that this affects ME and that is reason enough to get their hampsters running in their wheels and get this thing fixed.  (And of course, it affects everyone else posting here in frustration.  Point being, even if it affects only 2% of their players, it's still an issue they should fix.)  I will say that I  will no loger be playing logged in.

My cookies will become available for consumers only when this is fixed! - And yeah there should be a little Raenlmrahl on every EA/Bioware tech/customer service rep. And they all should have the face of his Merlin avatar portrait. An army of Little dwarf sized Raenlmrahls with fuzzy beards!

dont look at me i wish i could play this weekend i just as many of you dieing for them to fix it but on the other hand i have a job computer related and i know things get a priority and when i work i cant do more then 2 or 3 things at the same time and when is saturday i rather go to the park then come back work :P

I blame EA and i wish they would give EVERYBODY affected by this a 20$ discount making an official statment and saying sorry for the problem but **** happen and i am willing to respect everybody saturday at the park if you tell me they will fix it on monday/tuesday

i just dont think that "officially ignoring the problem" is the image they would want the company to portray... they will regret this i think

FuzzyBee,

You're absolutely right. Tsunamis & meltdowns in Japan are far worse than being prohibited from playing a lawfully purchased video game on my own free time. I couldn't agree more. And, as you'll see by tuning into any of the crybaby liberals bemoaning that fact in the newsmedia, the rest of the world agrees with you too. That's why I posted my complaint in one of many hundreds of threads on a little known forum for a little known company. And that's why I'm just asking this specific company to fix it's problem...not The Red Cross or any number of benevolent charity organizations...not my state or federal government...nor do I plan on calling the local news affiliate to decry the injustice of it all. I am asking a privately owned company to repair a glitch begotten of their own ineptitude. If that's a disproportionate response, then what's proportional?...Sending Bioware/EA game engineers free tickets to Disneyworld since they were "understanding" on the phone?

Think about it, dude.

This thread has become a Support Group for those of us suffering this withdrawal grievances from DA, so I'll begin:

Hello, I'm Redundant Cookie. Last Friday I bought the Ultimate Edition to add to my vanilla (plus 3 DLC) edition. This caused my poor dwarven noble, Sereda to be interrupted when she was blatantly flirting with cute and goofy Alistair while at the same time dabbling into pseudo lesbianism with Leliana. This has taken a terrible toll on her as it was not so long ago that she was betrayed by her younger brother Bhelen.

Well, it affects everyone who bought Ultimate edition recently. When you suddenly get broken game, you will think twice about buing anything from the same company. But who cares.

I have always played DA:O logged in, and haven't reinstalled it or done anything out of the ordinary to try fix this issue. When I go offline now all of my DLC is still unauthorized, and I can't load my saves. I would say this issue must be affecting more than 2% of players.

I'm still waiting for your stories; let's have a few drinks and talk about our favorite characters. And always make a ranting note about this situation to keep the posts in-topic.

PS: Also, anyone knows in what should I spend the $20 compensation coupon?
