I am surprised there wasn't more noise about this news today.  I know I was greatly relieved that there is to be no multiplayer in the finale of Shepard's story.  Although I don't think we should be going "I told you so" because pretty much everyone was against the idea of MP in ME 3 anyway, it was just the odd one or two people that actually wanted MP and hopefully their wish will be granted in the next Mass Effect game.

So rather than say "I told you so" it is best to just enjoy the fact that we are going to get a killer single player experience, one we might never see again if the software industry has it's mp/cod copying ways .

Nice. Multiplayer is for the next trilogy, or whatever after Mass Effect 3. This game just needs to focus on using every resource to making all our choices matter.

I never had any doubt there would be no mp in ME3...
All it ever was was "a popular extranet meme" to borrow a phrase.
I still bet there will be Threads created asking/begging/DEMANDING that Multi-player be added.

Yeah, OP, whose faces exactly are you throwing this in? Pretty much everyone here knows how bad MP in ME3 would've been and hated the idea, and I'm sure everyone is super stoked that it isn't in.

Did anyone actually want MP? I remember a few people saying they wouldn't object to it, but so far I haven't seen anyone actually REQUEST it. And for obvious reasons.

Well, I like MP games, and I knew that it wouldn't be in ME3, but i'm sick of all the ignorance being thrown around. Because a game has MP does not IN ANY WAY mean that the story campaign will be bad.

You missed a lot of Threads then, my friend!
Thankfully, they died out or were killed pretty quickly, but they were there!
There were Threads that not only requested it, but DEMANDED it...posts saying that Bioware "better" put it in, stupid polls about it, etc.

This thread has 'TROLLOLOL" written all over. Anyone still hoping for MP in ME3 has long since been denounced by the entire community, so this, while on the side of the majority, is still kind of pointless.

I was very, VERY worried that there wold be mp in ME3. There was so much chatter about it after ME2 launched. Even on the old forums, before ME2 was even announced, people would talk about how great it would be to have deathmatch and stuff like that in ME.

I'm glad that resources weren't diverted from the single player experience in ME3. That being said, I think that a multiplayer spinoff game might be a lot of fun, if done correctly. A bunch of Shepards running around a map killing eachother would be fun for about ten minutes. But there is potential for something unique. So as long as it doesn't take away from campaign, I'll remain cautiously optimistic for ME mp in the future.

There was a 50/50 chance there would be no multiplayer, meaning everyone had a 50% chance of being right...Those aren't bad odds for getting lucky with assumptions. I don't really feel like I can brag about being right about an assumption like that

I do feel a relief over it since I don't want multiplayer mixed into the fray either way.

The latest issue of GameInformer brings latest dope on Mass Effect 3, and with it some bad news as the rumored multiplayer inclusion apparently will not happen. The first two Mass Effect games lacked a multiplayer mode, and fans were hoping for one with the third installment, which seems out of the question.

Not so sure that I agree with you on this one.  (Want to be clear, I'm not attacking you, just disagreeing with your statement).  I wouldn't say it was a 50/50 chance, because bioware doesn't exactly have a history of adding MP to single player RPG's.  If half of their games had MP and half didn't then yes, I'd agree.

That just goes to show how out of touch the gaming media is with what gamers really want.  Still it is irrelevant what that website thinks gamers want.  What is relevant is that Bioware has listened to fans and they are acting on that feedback.  The vast majority of fans were against MP in Mass Effect 3, they wanted a kick ass single player game and that is what Bioware are going to give us

actually theres still a mp thread once in a wile... and i told this board ( not just mp fans) that it wouldnt be in and everyone was like show a link.. i made this thread because i figure hey its time to laugh hyserically at the people who still may sighn up to these boards and ask is mp in?
