Weapons Disappeared - Cannot talk to Shale
#1

I'm wandering around orzammar and realised all my weapons from the wardens peak have gone, I've also noticed Shale can no longer be interacted with.
I run the game as admin.
I have also logged in and out of my account to see if that works.
Now every time i log in the game just dies if i try and talk with shale.
Is there a fix for this yet? or is it just sloppy programming?

The game runs 100% perfect, its the DLC stuff that's borked.
If your gonna try and sell people DLC then you should at least make sure it works.

Once I finally noticed, it was too late. I'd overwritten my recent saves.
I think I'll just shelve authorising content entirely since the game doesn't seem to provide sufficient notice to me and it doesn't handle removal / reinstantement of the content at all well.

There is a DLC FAQ and general FAQ stickies at the top of this forum. They have some solutions for people suffering from DLC issues. Hopefully those can help you out.

What is your operating system/platform, and if it's PC: system specifications?
When you tried applying the fix, did you load up a saved game that had already been suffering from the problem?
Does it happen in older saved games from earlier in the game?
Have you downloaded and used any mods like the party camp chest? Or more generally, have you installed the toolset?

A large number of us have 'lost' our DLC quest, with associated equipment. Gone. The NPC is back at the camp acting as if I haven't done the quest, but it is still 'logged' as being completed and is showing as being succesfully downloaded. Howver, I've lost all equipment from the Warden's Keep, and it no longer shows on my world map. I have PC, and have downloaded both updates to the game. I don't have any mods nor the toolset.

Just to be clear Ags, the DLC is showing up as successfully downloaded, and not "unauthorized" or anything like that?
I know this has been circulating the office and we're definitely working on fixing it (and we've been able to replicate the issue here, which makes it a whole heck of a lot easier to work on).

Yes. it shows as successfully downloaded, and does not show 'unauthorized' or any other code -- looks exactly like my other successful downloads of items -- except I have lost everything I earned in the Keep, and it no longer shows on the map and the NPC is back in camp offering me the quest as if I had never done it before. Thanks.

Yeah I have heard of that for the DLC, especially Warden's Keep (most of the Stone Prisoner bugs I have seen involve talking to Shale as if the PC had never spoken to Shale before, along with some messed up warping to weird places in the terrain).

This has been a problem for many and so far, the only fix is to find a saved game where the DLCs did not get "flagged" or "corrupted" by an inadvertent server disconnect.

I understand the desire of the publisher to pull content that isn't authorized (even if I disagree with how it's done) but once server communication is re-established and content re-authenticated, it should not break this easily. It's never a good idea to treat us paying customers - the ones who are legit and follow the rules - more poorly than the *(&$% pirates who don't have to go through these issues because they bypass authentication.

I completed both DLC quests
All of my DLC downloaded and installed
Wardens Keep is gone
Shale is broke
Blood Dragon armor doesnt appear on my character and breaks the equipped items on my character ( I dont have one piece cause I put in in wk's chest. Equipping it doesnt display on my character and reverting back to the old gear doesnt display the sword and shield on my toon)
Havnet bothered with the staff since its DLC
I have the camp chest now but added it after i lost the DLC so thats not the issue.
Its a little upsetting that my brother has it for the 360, bought stone prisoner and wardens keep, and played through the game without any hiccups. Its ok though I have great news. I didn't save a bunch of money on my car insurance by switiching to Geico, but I'll be playing mass effect 2 on the xbox and won't bother screwing it up and entering code for the blood dragon armor on it.

I will give this game back if these problems are still there.
I just bought this game for 65 dollars to play those 2 DLC quests. I could download it and crack it instead. But i just wanted to play a good game without any problems. Now i am reading a forum for 6 hours a day to understand what is happening. I could play my game instead.
Please someone tell me, do you still encounter these issues? (missing quest npc, missing items.........................)

The DLC quest (Warden's Keep and Stone Prisoner) are still bugged as far as I know. However, I am not sure for what system they are corrupt on. I run the PC version of the game and as far as I know everyone else who runs the PC version is corrupted, I am not sure about X360 or PS3.

Its arguable whether that is a better solution to reloading a save. It does mean though you get to redo the quest for more xp.

No it doesn't.RampantBeaver wrote...
If you go into the downloadable content screen from the main menu and untick the DLC your having problems with and then retick you will solve the problem with disappearing items. Shale will still be bugged if you try talking to him in your party. However you will now be able to head back to the village you find him and redo the quest to solve the problem.

Well maybe it does with DLC that adds an item to your inventory, but it does not with items purchased from in-game stores or found/earned at the Wardens Keep.

Wardens keep i havn't had a issue with so i can't comment. Its worked for me with the items i got with my collectors edition, like 'Final Reasoning' and 'Bergens Helm'.

Well your original post only mentioned a few things, so I couldn't be sure if you (or the other posters in this thread, as I wasn't just replying to your post) had checked it out. There are DLC issues, and currently there's no official fix for them yet.

Still playing on 1.0, have not installed any mods or the toolset. All the DLC is downloaded and enabled.

Like others, I seem to be having trouble with the DLC. I installed the game, activated the DLC and played through the DLC with about 60 hours of playtime on this character (human, female, warrior if it matters). When I loaded up my most recent save and lost the starfang sword, the armour set from soldier's peak, the keep and if I talk with Shale it throws me to a wierd part of the terrain with the first dialogue before he is activated. This seemed to start after I went with Shale to look for memories on the deep roads. I took him to see the golem registery in the void anvil area, then everything started to go south from there.
I checked, all the DLC says it is installed and enabled, but the Warden's Keep is gone from the world map, Shale is bugged, and I lost some of my best gear, both because I had stored it in the chest at the keep and the DLC stuff I had equiped is gone. Reverting to earlier saves, I had to go very far back (before completing Orzammar, but when I encountered the bug yesterday I was done with the Landsmeet and finishing up side-quests before heading to Redcliffe) so I would lose about 15 hours of gameplay.
So is there a way to get Shale unbugged, get my keep back, and restore my lost loot without losing a whole weekend of playtime? I was so close to done, and don't want the wife aggro for replay if I can help it.
Thanks in advance.
