Ok, I've searched through the forums for a while trying to find a definitive fix for this problem.

I'm wandering around orzammar and realised all my weapons from the wardens peak have gone, I've also noticed Shale can no longer be interacted with.

I run the game as admin.

I have also logged in and out of my account to see if that works.

Now every time i log in the game just dies if i try and talk with shale.

Is there a fix for this yet? or is it just sloppy programming?

Hey guys,

There is a DLC FAQ and general FAQ stickies at the top of this forum. They have some solutions for people suffering from DLC issues. Hopefully those can help you out.

Well your original post only mentioned a few things, so I couldn't be sure if you (or the other posters in this thread, as I wasn't just replying to your post) had checked it out. There are DLC issues, and currently there's no official fix for them yet.

What is your operating system/platform, and if it's PC: system specifications?

When you tried applying the fix, did you load up a saved game that had already been suffering from the problem?

Does it happen in older saved games from earlier in the game?

Have you downloaded and used any mods like the party camp chest? Or more generally, have you installed the toolset?

Yeah I have heard of that for the DLC, especially Warden's Keep (most of the Stone Prisoner bugs I have seen involve talking to Shale as if the PC had never spoken to Shale before, along with some messed up warping to weird places in the terrain).

Just to be clear Ags, the DLC is showing up as successfully downloaded, and not "unauthorized" or anything like that?

I know this has been circulating the office and we're definitely working on fixing it (and we've been able to replicate the issue here, which makes it a whole heck of a lot easier to work on).

Problem is.....you can go back and do many hours over, but there is no guarantee that it won't happen again, at any time. Looks like they are working on it though. Here's to a fix shortly.

This is true, though it seems "random."  If anyone is able to consistently replicate the issue at the same point in a game though, please send me a PM.

Right now the best bet is to save frequently and keep an eye out for it happening so you can reload without much loss of game time.  Not the best solution I know.

I'm not sure of the timeline for a fix unfortunately.
